Chal Fanning

2020, Jordan Bohnet, RHP, (Liberty) 6-foot-1 195. Jordan has a physical body comp. He has a rhythmical delivery with long arm action creating leg drive into a cross fire landing. Jordan show the ability to throw a ton of strikes working all pitches in all four quadrants of the zone. His fastball was located well away from his arm side ranging from 74 to 79. The curveball, 62 to 64, showed sweeping break. Jordan showed a nice changeup with consistency for strikes at 70 to 72.

2021, Reese Alaniz, RHP (Legacy) 5-foot-9 165. Reese worked with diligence and mechanically showed a controlled, counter rotation into a balance point before coming to the plate. Reese displayed a 3-pitch mix and filled up the zone consistently. His fastball ranged, 73-76, with some arm side life. Reese didn’t not show much seconddary but the CB registered at 62 and CH 60.

2021, Matthew Sigafoos, RHP (Damonte Ranch) 6-foot -1 155. Matthew has a projectable body, slender build with room to grow and fill out with maturity. He showed a solid foundation mechanically, displaying a compact delivery with nice and fluid moving parts along with a quick arm. Matthew attacked the zone with his fastball, working 84 to 86, with some pitches showing good sink at the plate. Matthew also displayed a plus slider at times with could spin clocking in at 73 to 76 mph. Matthew, having two years of high school left, has plenty of upside and will be a picture to follow.

2021, Michael Carroll, RHP (Faith Lutheran) 6-foot-5 175. Michael has a ton of projection in his body, as he has two years to fill out and could easily be over the 200lb mark. Matthew is lacking strength at the present time and with some mechanical cleanup you could easily see him being in the mid to upper 80s in no time. Michael has a 3-pitch mix with a fastball, 79-83, a change up with some feel, 71-73, and a nicely shaped slider at times 71-70.

2021, Jonathon Merino, RHP (Centennial) 6-foot 165. Jonathon has an athletic/twitchy body that can add strength as he gets older. He displayed solid mechanics, moving freely with a long arm that had good acceleration. Jonathan possesses an attacking fastball, sitting between 83 to 85, that also has ASR as it crosses the zone. Jonathan also showed a nice changeup with good feel,75-77, that at times mirrored his fastball with good deception.

2021, Reed Schaefer LHP (Desert Oasis) 6-foot-3 175. Schaefer has a definite projectable body with a high waist and long levers that will put him in the prospect category for 2021 being that he is left-handed. He showcased 3 pitches, FB, CB, CH, all showing plus at times. Reed did struggle with strike zone consistency and will have to improve his control if he wants to standout in the 2021 class. Reed showed athleticism as he moved well through his delivery displaying solid mechanics that forecast him to be a potential left-handed power pitcher. He has a high 3/4 arm slot with his FB ranging 81-85 with good carrying spin. His arm slot also allows him to throw a CB, 64-69, with good spin as well with 11/5 break. Reed also flashed some changeups with plus feel, 70-72, with good deception off his FB. The future is bright for Reed Schaefer and will be a fun one to watch develop the next couple years.

2021, Christian Dijkman, RHP (Faith Lutheran) 6-foot-1 220. Christian is a broad shouldered, thick lower half right-handed pitcher. He has nice mechanics and moves freely throughout his delivery, creating good drive down the mound. What was most impressive about Christian's outing was the tempo he worked at, usually less than eight seconds between pitches. His fastball,76-79, though lacking velocity was made up for with good in out location. Christian showed a nice complementary change up,66-68, which at times had almost a split action for swing and miss.

2021, Vance Serrano, RHP (Faith Lutheran) 6-foot-1 165. Vance has a slender build with good shoulders and will likely fill out as he gets older. Mechanics were adequate showing good arm action but would like to see more leg drive and use of lower half. His fastball ranged from 78 to 81 and he threw a curveball, 63-64, with sweeping break. Vance did not throw a change-up.

2020, Nolan Craddock, LHP (Galena) 6-foot-4 195. Nolan has a chance to be a legit two-way player. Nolan looks the part with good looking athletic frame that already has a physical build to it. He showed well in his BP set and ran a decent 60 as well as displayed a nice 3 pitch mix from the left side. Nolan displayed a good mound presence complimented with solid mechanics. Nolan showed a good movement pattern in his delivery, creating acceleration down the mound with a high 3/4 arm slot, into good extension with his 3 pitches. His FB, 80-83, had tight spin and some riding life getting on the hitters. The Ch was 63 and though he only threw a couple change ups, he did execute one that looks to be serviceable. Nolan did spin a nice CB,67-70 with good top to bottom break that showed depth through the strike zone.

2021, Austin Cates, RHP (Coronado) 6-foot 185. Austin is put together well with broad shoulders and thick lower half. He showed fundamental mechanics and arm action down the mound but there could be more in there with a more aggressive drive and hip rotation. FB registered 74-78 while the CH came in at 70-71. Austin showed breaking pitches, 68-70, that had some nice lateral movement.

2021, Xavier Garrity, RHP (Centennial) 5-foot-11 175. Xavier showed satisfactory mechanics with some rhythm in delivery, with a short arm action. His FB showed a natural cut at times and registered 77-79. X spun a slider, 67-70, which at times had good spin with short late life. The change up, 69-72, looks like it could be serviceable off the FB with good ASR action. Garrity appeared to have more in the tank and with noticeable competitiveness could be an intriguing follow.

2021, Thomas DiLandri, RHP (Homeschool), 6-foot-3 195. Thomas is a 2-way prospect going into his junior year. The TCU commit is physically gifted with an athletic body that definitely looks the part on the ball field. On the mound, Thomas displayed good mound awareness with a smooth, clean delivery. Staying back over the rubber during leg lift, Thomas gathers and accelerates down the mound into foot plant, with good shoulder/hip separation. Arm action is clean with plenty of arm strength, throwing from a 3/4 slot, Thomas FB clocked in 88-90 touching 91. Thomas did not throw any breaking pitches but did use his CH 79-81, as his off speed out. Thomas will be one to follow in the 2021 class of prospects.

2021, Samuel Simon, RHP (Centennial) 6-foot-3 195. Simon is a potential 2 way player but on the mound really passes the eye test as a prospect. Simon has a great build having a high waist and long levers with room to put on strength, all this adding up to a power pitcher. His delivery was fluid and moved well for size. Samuel showcased a FB ranging 86-88 with good carrying life in the zone. Samuel did not throw any change ups but did show a serviceable CB, 68-70. Samuel is currently uncommitted but that might not be for long as he will be on plenty of short list this fall and/or spring.

2020, Mac Salmon, RHP (Bishop Gorman) 6-foot-3 200. He is well built with broad shoulders, long arms, and a high waist. He an adequate delivery with good drive down the mound. He pitches with an attacking style but needs to command the zone as he continues to develop. Salmon’s FB ranged 77-79 at times coming out the hand really well. Secondary were adequate and will improve over time. The CB, 67-71, was slurvy with two plane rolling action. The CH, 71-72, was firm with some fading action.
