HENDERSON, NV - PBR Nevada All State Games analysis continues with the pitching performances. All of our underclass pitchers performed double duty thus velocities would likely play up a bit since they were taking the mound following both offensive and defensive workouts.

2022, Garrison Geis RHP (Reno HS) Uncommitted 5-foot-10 148,  Athletic two way player showed well at the state games. On the mound Geis displayed a 3-pitch mix. A solid delivery and short/quick arm action led to life on fast ball working 76-78 topping at 79. Geis displayed feel for the changeup at 67-68 along with a curve ball 64-65. Geis attacked the zone showing ability of command and putting hitters in an immediate hole.

A freshman from Bishop Manogue, Callan will be one to watch as development continues.

2023, Andrew Israel, RHP (Bishop Gorman HS) Uncommitted 5-foot-8, 135, showed a high ability to pitch. Slight in stature at the moment, Andrew possesses good genes as his older brother was a standout at Bishop Gorman and SDSU signee. Andrew has an attacking approach and pounded the zone with 4 pitches. FB had a range of 61-64 with good in and out location. Secondary pitches were few, CB-51 and CH-57 but were effective and thrown for strikes.

Mechanics were solid with good acceleration and fluidity in delivery. Overall arm strength and arm action was good with mainly a FB/CB mix. The FB topped at 79, reading mainly 75-78, with some life out of hand. CB,63-65, had good shape with 1/7 break with some swing and miss by the hitters. As Luke continues to develop and add strength, the 3/4 slot will provide a good FB/SL mix. Did not throw a change up so that will be the next pitch to add to his arsenal.

2022, Mason Oliphant, RHP (Reno HS) Uncommitted 5-foot-8, right handed pitcher. Showing a 3 -itch mix of FB, CB, CH, Mason showed good command of all 3 pitches. Stuff is lite at the moment as the FB ranged from 65-70, CB 52-56, and CH 57-58 with some good feel for action and strikes. Delivery is simple with good direction lending to high ability to throw strikes.

A high 3/4 arm slot allowed for good 1/7 shape to CB. Delivery is methodical and deliberate with a slight closed stride. Location of all pitches was good showing ability to fill the zone consistently. Future development will come with added strength as Aiden matures.

2023, Cooper Sheff, RHP/SS (Basic HS) Uncommitted 6-foot-2, 165. Cooper is already a beast, passing the eye test with a physical frame and tons of projection. Body type is high waisted, broad shoulders, and muscular/veined build.  An above average 2 way player for age, Cooper will be a name that will soon be on everyone’s radar, if not all ready. Cooper comes from a good baseball background and shows a high-quality baseball IQ. Cooper showed mound presence and ambushed the strike zone with tons of strikes. Mechanics were consistent and movement throughout delivery showed athleticism for repeatability.  Arm action is quick and compact along with long levers allowing makings to spin the baseball effectively. Arm strength in OF was 82mph and down a tick on mound. FB was 76-79 with life at the plate. CB/SL showed some plus sweeping action that registered 66-69 along with a complimentary Change up, 67-68, that showed depth at the plate.
