DIVISION I/II RANKED TEAMS

#1 Grove City (11-1)

#2 Strongsville (8-2) swept #33 Archbishop Hoban 8-3 and 11-5.

#3 Defiance (9-1) 

#4 Massillon Jackson (10-1) swept Nordonia (5-8) 7-3 and 5-4. Aaron Hoffman had a double and home run in game one. Hoffman had double and 3 singles in game two, including a walkoff single in the bottom of the 8th.

#5 Centerville (12-1)

#6 Walsh Jesuit (9-1) topped Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (7-3-1) 4-1. Junior LHP Joe Mockbee pitched 5 and 2/3 innings with 5 strikeouts, no walks, 4 hits, and no earned runs allowed. He allso drove in a run. Senior Ohio Wesleyan recruit Drew Miletti was 2-3. He scored 2 runs and hit a deep double. Junior Cassidy Brown earned his 5th save of the year.

#7 Mason (11-3-1)

#8 Elder (11-3) 

#9 Moeller (11-4) beat Sprayberry (GA) 6-0. Senior Phillip Diehl (Evansville) threw a complete game shutout giving up just 4 hits and striking out 8. Ryan LeFevers led the offense going 2-4 with 3 RBI. Sophomore Riley Mahan drove in 3. Nick Meece triples and Stephen Hackman each went went 2-4.

#10 Mentor (6-2) 

#11 St. Ignatius (6-4) fell to Archbishop Spalding 4-1.

#12 Sandusky (10-3) lost to #16 Ashland (12-0) 8-6 in a rain shortened 5 inning game, and then beat Massillon (4-5) 9-8.

#13 Willoughby South (8-2)

#14 North Canton Hoover (11-3) shutout Timken 16-0 in game one and 10-0 in game two. For Hoover, Eric LePage had three hits, four runs scored and three RBIs, and Will Haueter had two hits, five RBIs and three runs scored. For Hoover in game two, Eric LePage had three hits and Austin Feinberg, Alex Binnie and Ben Thomas had two hits apiece.

#15 Hudson (10-0) topped #20 Canton Central Catholic 10-4 and beat #1 Keystone 12-2. Hudson scored six runs in the third inning to take the lead and control of the first game of the CCC Diamond Classic. John Taylor collected 3 singles and scored three runs and Kyle Hagy smashed two doubles to lead the 13 hit Hudson attack. Alex Tench picked up the win. In game 2, Brian Suydam scattered 3 hits in four innings of work to pick up his first win as the Hudson Exploreres improved to 11-0 with a 12-2 win over Keystone in game two of the CCC Diamond Classic. Ross McLelland had 3 singles and scored 4 runs as Hudson scored 3 runs in the first and third innings and then scored 5 in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the game.

#16 Ashland (12-0) beat Massillon (4-5) 9-8, then beat #12 Sandusky 8-6 in a rain shortened game.

beat Continental (3-5) 6-2. Clay Pittman led the Rams with a single and home run while Reid Renollet smacked a triple and Chris Wityk stroked a double.

#9 Lima Bath (11-3) Split a doubleheader against Napoleon (5-7) losing the opener 4-1 and winning game two 7-5. Brian Flowers pitched a complete game for Napoleon only allowing one run, two hits, and two walks to earn the win in the opener. Tyler Miller led Napoleon with a single, triple, home run, and three RBI in the second game.

#19 Fairview (11-4) split a doubleheader with Lima Shawnee (6-10) winning game one 7-0 and losing game two 9-5. Jacob Whitman threw a six-hit shutout with five strikeouts in game one for the Apaches while Tyler Nusbaum had a single and two doubles to lead Fairview at the plate.

#20 Canton Central Catholic (10-2) fell to #15 Hudson (10-0) 10-4. In game 2, Canton beat #1 Keystone (7-6) 15-0. Gunnar Smeyres struck out 9 and pitched a three-hit shutout for Central Catholic. Also for the Crusaders, Brad Frohman had three hits and four RBIs and Jake Krupar had two hits and four RBIs.

NON-RANKED TEAMS

Hopewell-Loudon (11-1) beat Patrick Henry (7-7) 7-0 in game one and lost 9-3 in game two. 6-3 senior Logan Sendelbach (4-0) threw a no-hitter, striking out 12 while walking one. Senior Alex Ratchen had a single, 2 doubles, home run and 4 RBI. Senior Tyler Tyree had a single and home run for the Chieftain's. Senior Kevin Kline (University of Toledo commit) went the distance for the Patriots striking out 6. In game two Logan Sendelbach had a single and home run for Hopewell-Loudon. Kollin Spence had a single, double and 3 RBI for the Patriots.

Leipsic (13-1) beat Delphos Jefferson (5-10) 7-2. Derek Mangas had two singles at the plate and was also the winning pitcher for the Vikings.

Hicksville (7-7) topped Antwerp (3-9) 10-0 in game one and 14-1 in game two. Seth Klepper had a huge day for the Aces, driving in 11 runs and smacking two round-trippers. Klepper also threw four innings of one-hit ball in game two. Justin Miller added a two singles and a double in game two for Hicksville.

Columbus Grove (9-5) took two from Cory-Rawson (7-5) 10-0 and 13-9.

Holgate (10-4) swept Stryker (4-8) 9-7 and 3-2.

Edgerton (4-8) swept Fayette 14-0 and 17-0 in a double header.

Bellevue swept Firelands 10-5 in game one and 13-2 (6 inn) in game two.

Ada topped Lima Temple Christian 13-12.

Convoy Crestview beat Ottoville 4-0.

Lima Central Catholic beat Riverdale 13-3.

Lincolnview topped Waynesfield-Goshen 12-4.

New Bremen beat Van Wert 15-6.

Versailles took two from Fort Loramie 7-4 and 5-3.

Girard (12-4) swept Columbiana 8-5 in game one and 10-2 in game two.

Cornerstone Christian (11-3) took two from Maplewood 3-2 and 13-10.

Howland (11-3) swept Twinsburg (8-5) 9-3 and 7-6.

Springfield Local (9-2) won two against Salem (1-12) 11-2 and 7-3.

Hiland (9-3) split with Perry (5-5) losing game one 4-3 and winning game two 4-2.

Alliance (8-2) took two from out of state competition, beating Sommerset (Pa.) 5-3 and Mountain Ridge (Md.) 6-5.

Coventry (7-3) swept Fairless (6-7) 5-3 in game one and 11-4 in game two.

North Royalton (10-2) topped Cardinal Mooney 11-7 in game one and 11-4 in game two.

Lorain (6-2) split with Amherst Steele (7-5) winning game one 6-3 and falling in game two 8-1. 

Clearview (5-4) split with Elyria Catholic (5-5) winning the opener 7-3 and losing game two 8-2. 

Cuyahoga Heights (7-2) shutout Rhodes (4-4) 10-0.

Avon Lake (5-3) topped Elyria (4-7) 10-5.

Fairport Harding (10-1) took two against Shaw (2-8) 19-1 and 9-1.

West Geauga (1-10) topped Gilmour Academy (3-7) in game one 6-2 before falling in game two 11-10.

Green (6-6) swept Warren G. Harding 22-0 and 14-6.

Westlake (8-4) took two against Medina (4-6) 8-7 and 5-4.

Cuyahoga Falls (6-6) swept Normandy (1-11) 9-0 and 17-4.

Johnstown-Monroe topped Holy Name (7-3) 4-3

Cambridge (14-2) picked up 5 big wins this week with victories over Marietta, Zanesville, Parkersburg, Coschocton, and Wheeling Park. Unsigned senior Rylee Rogers was 7 for 14 on the week with 4 doubles, 6 RBI, and 6 runs.

Mount Vernon beat Lexington twice by scores of 5-4.  

Perry (5-5) split with Hiland (9-3) with a 4-3 win and a 4-2 loss. Perry’s Gary Lawrence singled home Sam Mathie in the bottom of the seventh for the winning run. Joey Beals had three hits and three RBIs for the Panthers.

Tuslaw (10-3) beat Northwest 12-8. Tuslaw’s Alex Reed finished with two singles, a double and four RBIs.

Dublin Jerome (7-4) beat Dublin Scioto (5-7) by a score of 10-0.

Olentangy (7-5) beat Bexley (6-9) by a score of 15-4. Senior catcher Woody Wallace (UC recruit) hit a three-run bomb.

Newark Catholic (7-5) beat Utica (10-5) by a score of 7-5.
