DIVISION I RANKED TEAM SCORES

No. 1 Ashland (14-1) 

No. 2 Grove City (14-1)

No. 3 Strongsville (13-2) beat Saint Ignatius 2-0 on Friday. Senior Kyle Toma (Mercyhurst recruit) throwing upper 80s threw a shutout with eight strikeouts and two walks. Toma improves to 2-1 on the season. Senior center fielder had two doubles on the day, and sophomore Tom Krokey also had one double.

No. 4 Centerville (17-1) beat No. 36 ranked Troy 4-2 and 12-2. 

No. 5 Hudson (13-1)
 beat Mentor 6-2. Hudson scored three runs in the third inning to take a 5-0 lead and added a run in the fifth to win 6 -2 over Mentor in game two of the 5th annual Cancer Awareness Classic. Chris Andrus scattered four hits in 5 innings to pick up his first win. Jono Chafe picked up his fourth save of the season. Kyle Hagy collected a single and a double with 3 RBI's to lead the Hudson offense.

No. 10 Walsh Jesuit (12-2) beat CVCA 18-12. Sophomore Konner Klein went 2-3 with 4 RBI including a double off of the fence and three runs scored. Ohio Northern recruit Zack Leonatti went 4 for 4 including a double, three runs scored, and 2 RBI.

No. 11 Norwalk (16-1) beat Edison (10-5) 3-1 in non-league action on Saturday.  Doubleheader was reduced to one game due to the overnight rains.  WP - Collin Souter-Jr (4-1) pitched the entire 7 innings giving up five hits and one earned run.  Norwalk had seven hits lead by Jr Michael Finch with two. Norwalk travels to Marion Harding on Monday.

No. 21 Springboro (14-3) split a doubleheader with Northmont (13-5). Springboro won the first game 12-3 and Northmont took the second game 11-5.

No. 1 Defiance (14-1) swept a DH over Van Buren 11-0, and Tiffin Columbian 15-3.  Weston Rivers threw a 6 inning no-hitter in Game 1 and Robert Zeigler improved to 5-1 with the win over Tiffin Columbian.

No. 2 Columbus DeSales (14-4) 

No. 3 Canton South (11-5) lost to Canton Central Catholic 6-0. Gunnar Smeyres struck out nine and pitched a three-hit shutout for Central. Noah Mallen had two of South’s three hits.

No. 21 Louisville (10-5) split with Indian Valley. In game one, Indian Valley won 6-5. For Louisville, Jon Crank had three hits and two RBI and and Connor Ruffier had two hits. In game two, Louisville won 12-11. For Louisville, Mike Kelly had three hits and Riley Groves and Joe Duckworth had two hits and three RBI each.

No. 22 Granville (11-4)  

No. 23 Bryan (11-1) swept Lima Shawnee 6-2 in game one and 6-0 in game two. Unsigned senior Derek Hug had a triple and 2 RBI in game one. Junior Collin Bacon went the distance in game one striking out 8. Bacon added a double at the plate. Matt Chaney had a single, double, home run and 3 RBI to lead the Golden Bears in game 2.

No. 24 Alliance (11-4) lost two close games to Richmond, Indiana by scores of 3-2 and 6-5.

DIVISION III RANKED TEAM SCORES

No. 1 Millbury Lake (11-2-1) split a doubleheader with unranked Evergreen (11-4). The Flyers won the first game 6-5 when sophomore Jayce Vancena struck out three consecutive hitters in a bases loaded, nobody situation in the top of the 7th after the Vikings had cut a 6-3 deficit to 6-5. Vancena also was 2-2 with a double and 2RBI to pace the Lake offense. Juniors Matt Brighton and Kyle Kern-Blystone each had a hit and 2 RBI to rally Evergreen. In the second game, junior Kevin Denker scattered 6 hits to lead the Vikings to a 5-2 win. Junior shortstop Dylan Henricks was 2-3 with a double and Brighton had 2 more RBI to lead the Vikings. 

No. 2 Wheelersburg (12-2) 

No. 3 Summit Country Day (17-2) picked up a 4-3 win over No. 4 Seven Hills. 

No. 4 Canton Central Catholic (14-4) beat DII No. 3 Canton South 6-0. Gunnar Smeyres struck out nine and pitched a three-hit shutout for Central. Noah Mallen had two of South’s three hits. CCC lost to Orrville 9-5. Steve Montgomery had two RBIs for Central.

No. 5 Carlisle (18-2) beat Tri-County North 4-0 behind a no-hitter from sophomore Josh Tarter, who struck out 9 and allowed 1 walk. In their second game of the day, Carlisle beat Franklin 8-5 with senior Alex Leach (UNOH recruit) going five and one third innings for the win.

No. 1 Defiance Tinora (16-3) split with Parkway (8-6) losing game one 12-2 (5 inn) and winning game two 14-2 (5 inn). Sophomore Derek Drewes picked up the win on the mound in game two, and adding a double and triple at the plate Sophomore Clay Pittman had 2 singles. in game two.

No. 2 Hopewell Loudon (15-1) 

No. 3 Bethel (16-3) beat Milton-Union 12-9 and 5-2.

No. 4 Seven Hills (13-3) lost to No. 4 Summit Country Day 4-3.

No. 8 Fairport Harding (13-2) topped Kirkland (10-5) 11-5.

No. 9 Pioneer North Central (13-2)  swept Wayne Trace (4-14) by scores of 8-4 and 8-5. Kole Peterson hit two singles and two doubles for the Eagles in the opener while Ryan Masters added a single and home run. Ryan Jewell had a double and home run for the Raiders. In the nightcap, Kole Peterson smacked three home runs to lead the Eagles and Ryan Masters chipped in with a single and double. Cade Harvey led the Raiders with two singles and a double.

No. 16 Columbus Grove (14-6) swept New Riegel (6-8) by scores of 9-0 and 11-7. Brady Shafer garnered a complete-game win for the Bulldogs in the opener, striking out 5, while leading at the dish with three singles and a double on the day.

No. 17 Seneca East (13-4) split with New London (13-7) by scores of 12-8 and 5-1.

No. 19 Cincinnati Christian (12-4) beat Fayetteville Perry 10-4 and 1-0.

No. 20 Edon (9-7) fell twice. The fell to Hicksville 9-5, and to Archbold 11-0.

UNRANKED TEAM SCORES

The Tallmadge Blue Devils (10-5) picked up a 7-0 win over Huber Heights Wayne as part of the Cancer Awareness Classic played at Schoonover Stadium at Kent State. Junior Nick Robinson (2-0) threw a two-hit shutout for the Devils.  Unsigned senior second baseman Danny Blake went 2 for 3 and was HBP.  For the three games this week Blake was 9 for 10 with two walks and a HBP.  The senior is batting .534 on the season.  Senior Matt Shomo was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and stole home to open the scoring for Tallmadge.  Kent State commit Tucker Linder was 2 for 3 with a single, triple, BB and three RBI.  Linder leads the Devils with 19 RBI's on the season.

Lakota East beat Hilliard Darby 6-3.

Olentangy Lewis Center beat Hilliard Darby 11-1.

Hicksville (10-7) 10, Archbold (11-6) 6. Seth Klepper hit a single and double for the Aces while Danny Turk and Nick Post chipped in with a pair of singles.Tanner Wyse led the Blue Streaks with three singles and Michael Walker added two doubles.

Hicksville 9, Edon (9-7) 5. Nick Post led the Aces with a single and two doubles while Gunner Shock and Kaleb Johns each added a pair of singles. Keegan Long and Brock Thiel had a single and double for the Bombers.

Archbold 11, Edon 0. Tyson Dietrich earned a win on the mound, striking out 5, in addition to helping himself at the plate with a single, a home run and five RBI.

Coldwater (12-6) fell to Urbana 5-2.
