With 2020 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best 2021 high school coverage that can be found anywhere. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2021 Spring Team Preview: Archbold Blue Streaks

Team Name: Archbold Blue Streaks
Head Coach: Dick Selgo
Division: III
2019 Record: 26-4
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/4

2021 Team Strengths:

  • A key returning pitcher, (Newman), and a sincere desire to get better as a team.

Coach Outlook: "This group is hungry to show they can continue the tradition of Archbold Baseball. A strong non-league schedule including Defiance, Perrysburg, Anthony Wayne, Bowling Green, and Toledo Central Catholic, plus many teams in our immediate area and league, will be quite challenging."

Top Returning Players:

  • DJ Newman, P/SS, 2022, 6'0, 170, R/R Played some at 3B as a freshman. Had an excellent summer playing for Ohio Elite. .411 AVG, 7 2B, 1 HR, 26 RBIs, .678 Slug, 2.10 ERA, 46 K, 11 BB, 26 IP.
