Nevada Scouting Director

LAS VEGAS, NV –Palo Verde Panthers visiting the Arbor View Aggies early Saturday morning. Brennan Holligan (2019, College of Southern Nevada commit) toed the rubber for the Aggies and continued to impress. Holligan threw five innings, featuring a fastball and changeup mix.  He pitched comfortably with his fastball 84-86, touching 88.  He showed consistent down plane with area control.  Holligan displayed solid command of his changeup as well and kept the Palo Verde hitters at bay for the duration of his outing. Pacing the Panthers was second baseman Nate Bartlett (2019).  Bartlett is a stocky, strong bodied infielder with a short swing, and strike zone discipline. Bartlett draws comparison to former Vegas valley standout, Johnny Fields. Bartlett walked, singled and tripled in the game.

DIAMONDBACK INVITATIONAL - With Desert Oasis hosting South Hills (CA), Left-hander, Campbell Holt (2019) took the mound for the Diamondbacks. Holt’s fastball was 86-88 early with arm side life. He featured a curveball 72-74, showing the feel to both backdoor and backfoot the breaking ball.  Holt was noticeably competitive displaying emotion in big situations.   Holt gave way to Aaron Roberts (2019), who closed the game out in commanding fashion.  Roberts earned the final six outs using just a fastball that climbed up to 96 before striking out the side in his first inning of work.  Although the Diamondbacks kept South Hills offense in check from the mound, their big hit came off the bat of 2021, right fielder, Will Buening. Buening drove a ball to the wall for extra bases, igniting the offense early in the contest.
