Electric Fastballs
Jared Kelley, RHP, Refugio - FB (96-98 T100)
Texas Recruit. Easy 96-98 up to 100. Only a handful prep arms have the ability to consistently run FBs upper 90s with Kelley’s effort level. Kelley dominated the Texas HS season attacking hitters with big velo, devastating CH and improved SL/cutter.
Justin Lange, RHP, Llano - FB (95-97 T100)
Dallas Baptist Recruit. Big electric FB from low 3Q slot. Physical development led to continued jumps. 88-91 in the summer of 19’ made a big jump in the fall bumping 95 and this spring up to 100... consistently 95-97. FB has late life/ride that bores in on RHH hitters with option to paint glove side for strikes and punch outs.
Masyn Winn, RHP, Kingwood - FB (94-96 T98)
Arkansas Recruit. Exploding FB from a smaller frame. FB jumps on hitters with great natural ride. Big time athlete with two way potential. Quick twitch and athleticism aren’t lacking with Winn. Pitched really well down the stretch in 2019 state playoffs. Quick quick arm. Loves the big moment.
Chase Hampton, RHP, Kilgore - FB (93-95)
Texas Tech Recruit. Consistent 92-94 with downhill armside action that blows RHH up. Hampton attacks with armside FBs that set up his bite SL late. The FB is the separator.. explodes out and gets hitters swinging almost out of hand. Also has ability to elevate and finish upstairs. Big action consistent FB.
Sliders/ Curveballs
Brandon Beckel, RHP, Antonian Prep - CB (77-80)
Texas Tech Recruit. One of the top arms this spring in South Texas. Beckel has advanced feel for CB. Commanding the pitch early in counts for strikes with ability to finish with firmer/tighter punch out CB. Tunnels really well off of his FB generates plenty of swing/miss. Big time stuff and spin from Beckel.
Cam Brown, RHP, Flower Mound - SL (76-79)
Texas Christian Recruit. Brown dominated hitters over his run in TX past few years. Big competitive RHP attacks with bite SL that generates ugly swings/weak contact consistently. Brown has ability to spin it for strikes early and buries SL for swing/miss late. Ripper SL.
Storm Hierholzer, RHP, Lake Travis - SL (76-79)
Texas Christian Recruit. Sweep action SL with ability to finish with firmer bite action late in counts. Big athletic 3Q slot. Hierholzer pairs his SL well with natural FB life. Attacks hitters east and west. Creates plenty of ground ball outs and chased sliders down/away.
Reid Taylor, RHP, Woden - SL (78-81)
Texas Recruit. Competitive RHP makes best pitches when he needs to. SL has tight/firm action that keeps hitters of his FB and produces ugly swings consistently. Taylor is a polished kid with advanced feel for the game. Had strong outings all summer in 2019.
Change Up
Cam Caley, LHP, The Woodlands - CH (76-78)
Polished LHP with feel for 3 pitches. Made a velo jump this spring up to 91. Caley’s secondary pitches have been very effective through his HS career. Change up has natural fade/depth and gets consistent weak contact. CB spins right and with ability to flip in for strikes early and finish hitters late. One of the best pitchers in the state to go win a playoff matchup. Rises to occasion with feel for big pitch/big moment.
