Big Inning Lifts Lawrence Central to a Win



Alex Kryah and Lawrence Central rolled past North Central 9-3 on Monday at Lawrence Central High School.  Krayh’s pitching combined with L.C.’s six run sixth inning is what got the Bearcats their third win of the season.

              L.C. got their first run in the second inning, Derrian Smith tripled to lead off the inning and scored on a single by Matt Greenwell.  North Central would counter by getting two runs in the top half of the third.  Jensen Kirch walked to get the Panthers started, the next batter, Gui Earlywine (2014), singled. MacLeod Lozer bunted both runners into scoring position.  Roman Baisa single to score Kirch and Mark Smith singled to score Earlywine.

              Lawrence Central got eight runs in the fifth and sixth to secure the win. Glenn Jones singled to score Geoffrey Bowles, Jaylen Quarles scored on a single by John Jones in the fifth to regain the lead 3-2. The Bearcats would push six across in the sixth, the inning was highlighted by Quarles’ RBI single and Jacob Lane’s two run triple. 

              Alex Kryah (2013) threw all seven innings for the Bearcats and got the win.  The 5’10 junior had a good outing as he was 77-79 and only faced three batters in four of the seven innings that he pitched.  In Kryah’s seven innings he allowed four hits, three runs, two earned runs, and struck out one.
