Campus Series Top Five: Exit Velocity

Dan Cevette
President, New York

Over 200 players attended our 2019 Campus Series events with several players standing out each week. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be rolling out several different types of articles on the players from those Campus Series events. Today we look at the top five exit velocities we saw, who swung the bats, and Dan Cevette gives his quick thoughts on the player.

Dalton Maxon RHP / OF / Tamarac , NY / 2020

Attended: St. Rose
Exit Velo: 95

Cevette's Quick Hit: He's big and physical, it's surprisingly an easy 95 off a tee with loose hands that produce serious juice. Lot's of power potential and during the event he showed it to all fields.

Quinn Hanafin 3B / OF / Sayre Area , PA / 2020

Attended: Ithaca College
 Exit Velo: 94

Cevette's Quick Hit: Love the energy Hanafin brings to the baseball field, and i'm a little surprised the rising sr. is still uncommitted. At the plate the barrel path repeats, there's athleticism, and there's raw power.

Christian Brown 3B / 1B / Troy , NY / 2021

Attended: St. Rose
 Exit Velo: 93

Cevette's Quick Hit: Another large framed big swinger from the greater Albany area. The barrel path has some slight incline but it's natural and not forced, the hands are thick and really strong, and the power is above average, especially to his pullside.

Trevor Dutra 1B / OF / Iona Preparatory, NY / 2021

Attended: Stony Brook University
 Exit Velo: 92

Cevette's Quick Hit: The athletic looking 1B really impressed overall back in mid-July, but the bat really stood-out during BP. Natural looking, sweet fluid lefty swing, some natural lift through the ball, hands power inside, raw juice to the right center gap.

Andrew Shapiro OF / 1B / Oneonta , NY / 2020

Attended: Ithaca College
 Exit Velo: 91

Cevette's Quick: Hits from the left-side and has really started to take off the more we see him. Hands are low on his approach, level compact barrel path, more of a hard line-drive approach. Continues to get stronger the more we see him.

Dan Davis 1B / LHP / West Genesee, NY / 2021

Attended: Niagara University
 Exit Velo: 91

Cevette's Quick Hit: Loose hands in the box, short and compact to the ball with an aggressive approach, really attacks the ball out in front. The bat-speed keeps climbing the more we see him. His power currently is to his pull-side.
