Catholic High School Defeats Harding Academy

Catholic 6 vs Harding Academy 4

Catholic High School defeated Harding Academy 6-4 on the campus of Arkansas Little Rock in a non-conference game.

Both teams sent talented 2018 graduates to hill and neither disappointed. 2018 LHP Evan Hiatt was sharp for Catholic throwing 5 innings allowing 0 earned runs and scattering four hits while striking out 8. Harding Academy started 2018 RHP Peydon Harlow, who impressed early, but lost command in the 4^th, which led to a big inning for Catholic leading to a 6-2 lead after 4. Harlow only allowed 2 earned on the afternoon.

Offensively the big blow for Catholic was a 2 out double in fourth which plated three runs by 2017 MIF Cameron Tissue. Other than that big blow the Rockets were held down scoring their runs on walks and errors by Harding Academy.

Harding Academy was opportunistic as well driving in a runs every time Catholic made a defensive mistake, they rallied in the 6^th to score 2 that cut the lead to 6-4. They were retired in order in the 7^th for the final score.

Vilonia 16 vs Arkadelphia 2

Vilonia uses big offensive 6^th inning to put Arkadelphia away early, in the night cap on the campus of Arkansas Little Rock.

The Eagles offense had a huge night pounding out 15 hits and drew 7 walks. 10 players recorded a hit, with 5 players recording a multi-hit game. Offensively 2019 MIF Josh Albatt stood out 2 for 3 with a 2B, 3B, 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs and drew a walk.

On the mound their staff worked around their 9 walks by striking out 5 and allowing just 6 hits. The veteran group of 2018 RHP Jordan Korzen, 2018 RHP Trey McNespey, and 2017 RHP Luke Gordon, worked with good tempo allowing their defense to make plays behind them
