The Northside Vikings traveled to New River Valley to tussle with a veteran Christiansburg Demon team. A game which was somewhat tight early on became a blowout as the game went on. The Demons collected thirteen runs, scoring in every inning. Chalk up a big win for the Demons winning 13-3
Emory & Henry recruit Chris Matney struggled in the first frame. Brae Farrell singled to start the game, and Austin Atkins worked a walk with no outs. Brandon Golden lashed a double and scored both runners. Matney got his sea legs in the second and was smooth for three strong innings.
Norfolk State recruit Micah Smith was on the rubber for Northside.
In the bottom of the first, Ryan McFee singled up the middle and second. Kyle Johnson advanced McFee with a single of his own, scoring McFee. Shortstop Brady Kirtuner drilled a RBI triple to right field, scoring Johnson and knotting the game at two.
In the third, McFee opened the frame with a single, Johnson singled to right, and Kirtuner laid down a perfect bunt advancing the two runners. Kevin Lambert reached on an error plating McFee, and Lambert scored on Zan Purham's opposite field single.
In the visitors fifth, Will Stout relieved Matney on the mound. Stout faced ten batters, allowed one hit, four strikeouts, and no runs.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Demons slammed the door on the Vikings, producing seven runs in thirteen at bats.

Notes

- Micah Smith was 84-85 with his fastball and primarily a two pitch repertoire.

- Will Stout was consistently between 85-86mph with the fastball with a three pitch mix.
