Churchill vs. Clemens
Churchill jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning and widened added two more runs in the second inning before being held until the sixth when they plated their sixth and final run of the game. Clemens was able to scratch out a single run in both the first and second innings, but the Churchill pitching and defense proved to be too much.
Texas A&M signee, RHP Landry Wideman, earned the victory, and University of Houston signee, RHP Carlos Flores, earned the save. Final score, Churchill 6, Clemens 3.
SA Reagan vs. Boerne Champion
In a fast-paced game, the 2017 6A state runner-up Reagan Rattlers scraped together a walk-off win against the Chargers of Boerne Champion. Reagan’s starting pitcher, Wichita State signee, LHP Cal Carver, worked with extreme pace and induced quick outs, and Champion’s defense was crisp, making the seven-inning affair last less than an hour and forty minutes. Final Score, Reagan 2, Champion 1.
