Throughout the West Virginia high school baseball regular season we will be posting a Power 5 in each classification. Updates will be made for Class AAA on Mondays, AA on Tuesdays and A on Wednesdays. Check back frequently at PBR West Virginia to follow team and individual results from the previous week. Today we continue coverage with a look at our Week Three AAA top 5.

Summary:

Hurricane holds our top spot for the second consecutive week. The Hurricanes went 3-1 while playing three North Carolina teams. The lone loss came 6-5 to out of state Charlotte Christian. Top offensive lines for the week belonged to Nate Dunham: 9-for-14, 5 R, 4 RBI, Tyler Cox: 7-for-14, 4 R, 6 RBI and Austin Dearing: 7-for 14, 4 R, 1 RBI. Jonathon Blackwell and Liam Bailey picked up mound wins with two stellar outings. Their combined line read 10 IP, 3 ER and 19 SO.

Summary:

St. Albans holds steady at number two this week. The Red Dragons went 3-2 including their trip south to participate in the Mingo Bay Classic. Offensive leaders were Nic Feazelle: 8-for-18, 4 R, 3 RBI and West Virginia commit Jake Carr: 6-for-17, 1 R, 3 RBI. While the offense was not overpowering, Nick Loftis, Carr and Ayden Hodges combined to throw 17 innings, striking out 25, and allowing only one earned run in two wins.

Summary:

Washington continues to occupy our number three slot. The Patriots also participated in the Mingo Bay Classic, going 3-2 on the week. Spencer DeLawder contckinued his early season, offensive onslaught by going 9-for-18 with 6 runs scored and driving in six. Cullen Watson had a solid 6-for-17, 4 R, 4 RBI week.

Summary:

Wheeling Park checks in at #5 after a 1-1 week. The Patriots were able to hold off University 4-3, but then dropped a 9-8 decision to Morgantown. Jarrod Jones went 2-for-2 with three RBI against University. Zach Kahle was 4-for-6, scoring three runs, and drove in three in the two games.
