The Class of 2016-17 Games at Michigan State University featured a plethora of talent and after the success, we look to hold this event annually.

2016 PROSPECTS

Adam James, RHP/1B, New Boston Huron HS, 2016

5-foot-11, 200 pound strong bodied prospect. High ¾ arm slot with fluid mechanics. Fastball sat 68-70 mph with sink. Curveball was 58-61 mph with trouble locating. Showed good hands and footwork at first base. Threw 68 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.80 home to 1st. Short compact swing with good plate discipline, needs to incorporate more lower half usage to gain power in his strong frame.

Adam Stepanski, MIF/RHP, Waterford, 2016

5-foot-7, 150 pound prospect. Fastball was 71-74 mph with solid command to both sides of the plate. Curve-ball was 60 mph, change-up was 69 mph. Off-speed needs work to add movement. Showed good range and soft hands in the infield. Arm lacks carry on longer throws. Ran a 4.96 home to 1st. Has a good load and separation at the plate. Uses his lower half well through the baseball, swing can get long at times. Bat speed registered at 77 mph.

Alec Owen, OF, Plainwell HS, 2016

5-foot-9, 142 pound prospect. Good range and glove work in the outfield. Threw 70 mph from the outfield. Goop plate discipline with opposite field approach. Needs to incorporate lower half into swing. Bat speed registered at 54 mph.

Alec Overbeek, OF/SS, Hamilton HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 200 pound athletic prospect. Good actions with glove and footwork from the outfield. Accurate strong arm with a velocity of 83 mph from the outfield. Ran a 4.24 home to 1st. Loads down and hits to all fields with a flat bat path. Bat speed registered at 71 mph.

Alex Darden, LHP, North Farmington HS, 2016

6-foot-4, 175 pound long and loose athletic frame. Low ¾ arm slot with great extension from the left side. Fastball sits 83-85 mph with plus arm side run. Slider is his best secondary pitch with solid movement at 75-76 mph. Change-up was flat at 69 mph. Big upside in his projectable thin frame, will add weight and velocity will increase.

Austin Putnam, 3B/OF, Charlevoix HS, 2016

6-foot-2, 195 pound strong bodied prospect. Good range and soft hands at third base with decent arm strength across the infield. Good glove and footwork in the outfield with an accurate arm. Ran a 4.86 home to 1st. Good plate discipline with line drive approach to pull side. Bat speed registered at 78 mph.

Bailey Peterson, SS, Grandville HS, 2016

6-foot, 160 pound athletic prospect. Great actions with his glove and footwork. Works around and through the ball well, threw 82 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.52 home to 1st. Wide base with a gap-to-gap approach at the plate. Good separation and stride foot down early, bat speed registered at 84 mph.

Bennett Norry, RHP, Kenowa HS, 2016

6-foot-2, 180 pounds athletic projectable pitching prospect. Quick arm with good mechanics falls to first base side. Fastball sat 83-84 with plus command. Curve-ball had good depth with out pitch ability at 69-72 mph. Change-up with sink at 71 mph. Good arm watch develop in coming years.

Bo Lineberger, LHP,  Rochester Adam HS, 2016

5-foot-11, 185 pound strong prospect. ¾ arm slot from the left-side mound. Fastball sits 70-74 has cut action. Slurve type breaking ball at 64-65, change-up at 69. Mixes three pitches for strikes and creates groundballs.

Brendan Bilkovic, MIF/RHP, West Bloomfield HS, 2016

6-foot, 145 pound athletic prospect. High ¾ arm slot with some deception in his clean mechanics. Fastball has some arm side run at 73-75 mph. Change-up is 60-61, and knuckle ball is 60 mph. Good hands and approach on the infield with a velocity of 72 mph across the infield. Ran 4.39 home to 1st. Toe tap with middle approach at the plate. Squares up the ball well to all fields. Bat speed registered at 76 mph.

Brendan Craven, INF, L’Anse Creuse HS, 2016

5-foot-7, 135 pound prospect. Showed good hands, feet, and range on the infield. Arm was clocked at 73 mph, which will get strong with maturity. Ran a 4.61 home to 1st. Good sound approach in the box with above average plate discipline. Hits the ball to all fields with a bat speed of 68 mph.

Brock Ridgeway, 1B/RHP, Homer HS, 2016

6-foot-4, 235  pound big strong bodied prospect. Good command of pitches with long leverage. Fastball has sink at 76-78 mph. Curveball is 63-64 mph. Good range and hands at first base with a long arm action. Ran a 5.03 home to 1st. Good setup with a pull approach and power to pull side. Plus bat speed at 89 mph.

Bryce Davis, RHP, Sparta HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 165 pound long/lanky body prospect. Long arm swing and falls hard to first base side. Fastball sat 82-84 mph. Curve-ball had good depth at 69-71 mph. Change-up had decent sink at 73-75. Will be a good follow to see develop, will need to throw more strikes as time progresses.

Cam Pope, LHP/1B, New Lothrop HS, 2016

6-foot, 170 pound strong athlete fresh off winning a state title. Left-handed pitcher with good command of fastball and change-up. Fastball sits 77-78. Change-up showed plus sink at 77. Curve-ball has good depth at 65-66, struggles to locate for strikes. Showed good actions with his glove and feet at first base. Ran a 4.64 home to first. Right-handed hitter with a short compact swing, showed strength at times in his bat. Bat speed was 75.

Cam Stella, RHP/OF, Plymouth HS, 2016

5-foot-10, 175 pound quick twitch athlete. Arm is long and loose from ¾ slot. Fastball sits at 84-85 mph with some arm side run. Slurve type breaking ball at 72-74 mph, with the ability to locate on both sides of the plate.  Velocity will increase with strength and maturity. Showed well in the outfield with carry on his throws, toped at 83 mph. Cuts down balls well with his range, and shows good actions with his glove. At the plate showed good separation and strong plate discipline. Over rotates on balls on outer 1/3 of the plate, bat speed topped at 86 mph. Ran a 4.44 home to 1st.

Cameron Milne, OF/RHP, Dexter HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 165 pound athletic two-way prospect. Showed great command getting downhill well on the mound. Fastball had good arm side run at 77-80 mph. Curve-ball needs get harder at 62-63 mph. Strong arm from the outfield at 84 mph. Showed great actions with his glove and feet. Ran a 3.7 home to 1st. Uses a toe tap approach from the left side at the plate. Good swing with some pop. Bat speed registered at 84 mph.

Chase Johnston, C, Mason HS, 2016

6-foot, 165 pound prospect. Quick and smooth transfers allow for a pop time of 2.30-2.33. Receives and sways to the baseball well behind the plate. Needs to get quicker with blocking. Ran a 4.75 home to 1st. Toe tap with good extension at the plate and goes to opposite field well. Bat speed registers at 71 mph.

Connor Kelly, SS/RHP, Forest Hills Central HS, 2016

6-foot-2, 180 pound long and lanky athlete. Clean mechanics who gets downhill well. Fastball sits 80-82 with sink. Knuckle-curve with good depth at 70 mph. Change-up has sink at 73-74 mph. Loose arm from shortstop at 80 mph. Good footwork and hands through the baseball. Ran a 4.60 home to first. Has good pop in bat and gets off backside well with a little lift in his swing. Bat speed registered at 74 mph,

Connor Matlock, RHP/OF, Fowlerville, 2016

5-foot-10, 190 pound lanky build prospect. Fastball sits 71-73 with plus command. Curve-ball has tumble action at 56-60. Lacks leg drive in lower half, will add velocity with more lower half usage. In the outfield showed a good arm with plus actions with his glove. Ran a 5.08 home to 1st. Strong swing at the plate with more to come with maturity. Pull approach with no load. Bat speed was 75.

Darren Rydzewski, LHP/OF, De La Salle HS, 2016

5-foot-6, 160 pound prospect. Throws from the left side using a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball has a little arm side run at 74-76 mph. Curveball is loopy at 63-65 mph. Good actions in the outfield with his hands and feet. Carry on his throws at 78 mph. Ran a 4.65 home to 1st. Inside/out approach from the left side of the plate. Quick hands and good extension. Bat speed registered at 72 mph.

Devin Hager, MIF, Walled Lake Northern HS, 2016

5-foot-10, 160 pound quick twitch athlete. Showed ability to be a plus defender on the infield. Above average hands and feet. Arm was clocked at 80 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.17 home to 1st. Showed a quick hands with strength in his bat at the plate. Gap to gap approach, with a bat speed of 77 mph.

Drake Ellens, OF/2B, Caledonia HS, 2016

6-foot, 155 pound strong build prospect. Showed great actions in the outfield with his glove and feet. Accurate arm with plus carry at 85 mph. Ran a 4.46 home to 1st. Ball jumped off his bat to the pull side. Good separation and extension through the ball. Bat speed registered at 79 mph.

Drew DeVine, SS, Marshall HS, 2016

5-foot-11, 160 pound athletic prospect. Separated himself as one of the top middle infield prospects in the state. Great hands and footwork with ability to range well to both sides. Threw 79 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.53 home to 1st. Good middle to oppo approach at the plate with gap to gap power. Gets off backside well creating a bat speed of 85 mph.

Drew Stavischeck, OF, Holt HS, 2016

5-foot-10, 165 pound athletic prospect. Long arm action in the outfield with good carry and accuracy, velocity at 79 mph. Great actions with his glove and feet. Ran a 4.36 home to 1st. Line drive swing to all fields, can get rotational with his lower half. Bat speed was registered at 82 mph.

Dylan Stewart, SS/3B, Clio HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 155 pound long and lanky prospect. Quick hands with a good approach through the baseball. Threw 71 mph across the infield. Ran 4.83 home to 1st. Line drive hitter with a good approach to all fields. With better lower half usage power will come. Bat speed registered at 73 mph.

Evan Claggett, C/INF, Plymouth HS, 2016

5-foot-7, 160 pound strong build prospect. Showed flexibility and received and blocked well. Transfers well allowing for a pop time of 2.12-2.17. Throws from low arm slot across the infield at 73 mph. Soft hands and quick feet make him a solid middle infielder. Ran a 4.38 home to 1st. Quick twitch swing from the left side. Sound mechanics, swing can get long at times. Bat registered at 79 mph.

Gage Wiedmeyer, MIF/SS, Saline HS, 2016

5-foot-7, 155 pound strong base prospect. Commanded all three pitches for strikes. Fastball sat 67-68mph. Curveball was at 60 mph, and change-up at 58 mph. Hands and footwork work well in the infield. Fields ball on right side o f his body. Ran a 4.71 home to 1st. Showed strength and pop in his swing. Pull approach with a slight lift to his swing. Bat speed registered at 82 mph.

Gunner Rainey, 3B/C, Adrian-Madison, 2016

5-foot-10, 190 pound strong and stalky build prospect. Showed good range, soft hands, and strong arm at third base. Quick transfer behind the plate showed a pop time of 2.05-2.19. Receives and blocks the ball well. Ran a 4.72 home to 1st. Showed a good approach at the plate with a strong ability to go to the opposite field. Low hand slot and a bat speed of 75 mph make this player a good follow with the ability to play multiple positions.

Hunter Buczkowski, RHP, Mt. Pleasant HS, 2016

6-foot, 205 pound big strong prospect. Locates fastball very well to both sides of the plate, curve-ball has good movement but needs to get in strike zone more. Fastball has great arm side run at 83-84 mph. Curve-ball was at 70-71 mph and when located was a good pitch.

Hunter Smith, RHP, Faith Baptist HS, 2016

6-foot-5, 200 pound long and lanky prospect. All pitches have great movement; will need to refine to get them in the strike zone. Fastball sits 78-80 with arm side run. Change-up is 71 mph with good sink. Curve-ball is elevated at times at 66-67. Upside is big with his size and future.

Jacob Mavis, RHP, St. Joesph HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 150 pound lanky athletic prospect. Show good arm speed, fastball was 82-84. Curve-ball is a 12/6 with decent depth, sits at 66-68. Change-up was 72-73 mph. Showed good control of all three pitches. Off speed pitches need to get a little better to create out pitch ability. Thin frame will gain velocity with weight gain and maturity.

Jared Blum, SS, Hudsonville HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 165 pound loose and lanky athletic prospect. Shows athletic fluid actions on the infield. Quick hands and quick feet make him a plus defender. Ran 4.43 home to 1st. Has a good approach to all fields with quick hands to the baseball. Bat can get long at times, bat speed registered at 76 mph.

Jared Char, C/OF, North Farmington Hills, 2016

5-foot-10, 170 pound intriguing multi-position player.  Showed good actions with glove and feet in the outfield, arm was accurate and clocked at 79 mph. Received and blocked well, flexibility needs to increase. Showed quick hands and feet for a pop time of 1.98-2.07. Ran a 4.21 home to 1st. Narrow stance with a strong bat, shows pull approach with some power. Bat speed registered at 83 mph.

Jeff Timko, C, Brother Rice HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 205 pound big athletic build prospect. Great frame for pitchers to throw to behind the plate. Receives and blocks baseball well. Quick transfers allow for a pop time of 2.12-2.27. Ran a 4.57 home to 1st. With strength in his bat the ball jumps off his bat. Bat speed registered at 94 mph.

Joe Stewart, C/1B, Portage Central, 2016

6-foot-1, 160 pound physically strong athletic prospect. Shows good flexibility behind the plate with quick hands on his transfers allowing for a pop time of 2.13-2.31. Blocks and receives the baseball well. Shows good range and athletic ability at first base. Soft hands and ability to pick bad throws. Ran a 4.57 home to 1st. Early stride with a pull approach, strong bat with pop. Bat speed registered at 86 mph.

Joey Merucci, C, Central Catholic, 2017

5-foot-10, 145 pound prospect. Showed quick hands on his transfers behind the plate, pop time was 2.08-2.22. Receives the ball well and sticks pitches in the strike zone. High base in-stance creates a slower blocking skills. Ran a 4.42 home to first. Good approach at the plate with pull power potential. Starts open and strides open. Bat speed was registered at 73.

Joey Prechtel, RHP/OF, Rochester Adams HS, 2016

6-foot-3, 195 pound strong arm projectable athlete. Has great size and leverage which allows his pitches to get on you late. Fastball is 86-88 mph with plus control. Slurve at 70-72 mph with late break. Showed good hands and a strong arm from the outfield. Clocked at 88 mph, needs to improve accuracy. Wide base at the plate with power in his bat. Pull approach with a bat speed of 80 mph.

Jordan Brewer, OF, St. Joseph HS, 2016

6-foot, 185 pound athletic prospect. Good glove and footwork in the outfield. Accurate strong arm at 85 mph. Ran a 4.06 home to 1st. Create some noise with bat with pull pop. Over-rotates on outer ½ pitches, bat speed registered at 80 mph.

Jordan Skidmore, RHP/3B, Stoney Creek, 2016

6-foot-2, 190 pound projectable  body.  Long loose arm with clean fluid mechanics. Fastball was straight at 75-78 mph. Slider had good movement at 73-75 mph. Shows good arm strength from third base, 76 mph across the infield. Hands work well through the baseball. Ran a 4.87 home to 1st. Showed the ability to hit to all fields at the plate. Has strength in his bat with his bat speed registering at 84 mph.

Josh Robbins, MIF, Northview HS, 2016

6-foot, 145 pound quick twitch athlete.  Showed good hands and footwork at shortstop. Threw 73 mph across the infield, arm accuracy was inconsistent. Ran a 4.26 home to 1st. Good loose fluid swing with a middle approach. Bat speed registered at 77 mph.

Kevin Large, RHP/SS, Utica Ford, 2016

5-foot-8, 175 pound strong body athlete. Showed good projection on the mound with plus movement on off speed pitches. Fastball was straight at 84-86 mph. Curve-ball showed good depth at 64-66 mph. Change-up showed plus sink at 68 mph. Short arm action across the infield with good range. Hands and feet work well together. Swings the bat really well and shows good strength for potential power. Has a pull approach, with his bat speed at 90 on exit velocity.

Kyle Ziegler, OF, South Lyon East HS, 2016

5-foot-9, 160 pound strong quick twitch athlete. Great actions with glove and feet in the outfield. Arm has good carry and accuracy with a velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 4.44 home to 1st. Has a bat wrap with quick hands and some pop in his bat. Bat speed registered at 85 mph.

Lucas McGuire, RHP/3B, Sterling Heights Stevenson HS, 2017

6-foot-1, 180 pound strong athlete. Showed solid mechanics on the mound with the ability to command his pitches. Fastball sat 76-78. Change-up showed good sink at 71-73. Showed good hands and solid footwork in the infield. Gets a low ¾ arm slot across the infield, which hurts his accuracy. Strong bat at the plate with good extension through the baseball. Bat speed was at 90. Ran a 4.74 home to 1st.

Luke Hargis, SS, Detroit Catholic Central HS, 2016

6-foot-2, 165 pound long and lanky framed prospect. Long arm action across the infield with a velocity of 80 mph. Shows good approach with his glove and uses his feet well fielding the baseball. Ran a 4.79 home to 1st. Strong base at the plate, with good separation. Bat long at times through the strike zone. Bat speed registered at 80 mph.

Luke Sleeper, LHP/1B, Haslett HS, 2016

6-foot-3, 175 pound long and lanky project-able prospect. Left-handed pitcher who throws strikes with good extension. Fastball sits 79-81 mph, curve-ball has good depth at 60-61 mph. Good hands and footwork at first base, threw 69 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.55 home to 1st. Middle of the field approach, with good usage of his lower half. Has some pop to pull side with bat speed registered at 86 mph.

Mason Erla, RHP/1B, Cass City HS, 2016

6-foot-4, 180 pound long and lanky prospect. Fastball had good arm side run at 86-87 mph. Keeps weight back at times and will add velocity with connection of lower half. Curve-ball was 68-69. Showed good command of fastball, left curve-ball elevated at times. At first base, showed soft hands, good range, and a strong arm. Has a strong swing at the plate and gets off his backside well. Bat speed topped at 88mph. Showed his athleticism running a 4.37 home to 1st.

Matthew Cooper, OF, Lowell HS, 2016

6-foot, 170 pound athletic prospect. Short low arm action from the outfield, with his velocity at 72 mph. Good actions with his glove and quick feet allow him to track down balls well. Ran a 4.38 home to 1st. Line drive approach at the plate, with strength in his bat. Bat velocity registered 84 mph.

Michael Falter, C/RHP, Lake Orion HS, 2016

6-foot, 185 pound strong athlete. Quick arm speed with leverage on the mound. Fastball sits 78-81, curveball has plus depth but erratic at times at 64-66 mph. Quick transfers and footwork behind the plate for a pop time of 2.04-2.25. Receives well and creates a big frame to throw to. Blocking was good and needs to get quicker on pitches to glove side. Ran a 4.46 home to 1st. Strong bat with good approach to all fields. Gets lower half through his swing well creating some pull side pop. Bat speed registered at 83 mph.

Michael Flaishans, C/INF, Canton HS, 2016

5-foot-7, 145 pound prospect. Quick transfers and quick feet allowed for a pop time of 1.92-1.99. Showed good feel for receiving and blocking pitches. Good hands and feet working through the ball on the infield. Ran a 4.79 home to 1st. Sound mechanics at the plate with good plate discipline. Bat speed registered at 80 mph.

Michael Kool, 1B/RHP, Centreville HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 205 pound big strong body prospect. Keeps ball down well on the mound. Fastball has arm side run at 76-77 mph. Curve-ball was at 62 mph, didn’t locate well. Showed very well at first base with his glove, strong ability to pick bad throws to him. Feet and hands work well through the baseball. Ran a 4.8 home to 1st. Gets good back spin on the ball at the plate. Stays stacked up with a strong bat. Bat speed registered at 90 mph.

Michael Ryan, C, Bishop Foley HS, 2016

6-foot, 205 pound big strong body prospect. Creates a big wide frame for pitchers to throw to behind the plate. Blocks and receive the ball well. Quick transfers allow for a solid pop time of 1.94-2.07 on throws to second base. Has middle approach at the plate with plus power. The ball jumps off his bat with a bat speed at 94 mph. With plus power has an approach to take pitches on outer 1/3 to right field. Ran 4.44 home to 1st.

Mitchell Dundore, MIF, Mattawan HS, 2016

5-foot-8, 145 pound projectable athlete. Long arm action across the infield with a velocity of 76 mph. Showed good hands and feet working through the baseball. Ran a 4.08 home to 1st. Strong bat with good plate discipline. Front side opens up on swing. Bat speed registered at 72 mph.

Nicholas Terry, RHP/OF, Almont  HS, 2016

6-foot, 150 pound prospect. Fills up the strike zone with three pitches. Fastball misses glove-side at times at 73-74 mph. Change-up has good sink at 68-70 mph, curve-ball is 62-63 mph. Quick transfers and a very accurate arm from the outfield. Ran a 4.8 home to 1st. Wide base, with a toe tap at the plate. Gets good extension through the baseball, bat speed registered at 76 mph.

Noah Solis, MIF, Adrian HS, 2016

5-foot-7, 155 pound quick twitch prospect. Long arm action across the infield with velocity of 73 mph. Showed good actions with his glove and feet. Ran a 4.48 home to 1st. Left-handed bat at the plate, showed a good approach and ability to hit to all fields. Bat speed registered at 76 mph.

Noah Wochaski, OF/2B, Chipewa Valley HS, 2016

5-foot-8, 150 pound quick twitch athlete. Good actions in the outfield with his glove and feet. Arm needs to get strong, threw 73 mph, Ran a 4.42 home to 1st. Good set up and line drive approach at the plate from the left-side. Gets off backside well, uphill swing at times. Bat speed registered at 70 mph.

Rex Dopp, C, South Haven HS, 2016

6-foot, 180 pound strong catching prospect. Received the baseball well and swayed to pitches. Should good flexibility and ability to block balls in dirt. Accurate arm with a pop time of 2.00-2.18. Ran a 4.8 home to 1st. Short bat path with good plate discipline. Power will come with more extension through the baseball. Bat speed registered at 87 mph.

Robert Cloyd, C/RHP, Divine Child HS, 2016

5-foot-5, 180 pound prospect. Fastball sat 71-73 mph. Frisbee slider was 59-63 mph. Change-up showed some sink at 62 mph. Commanded all three pitches for strikes. Shows a long arm slot behind the plate with a pop time of 2.3-2.42. Receives the baseball well, flex-ability will need to increase. Ran a 4.73 home to 1st from the left side of the plate. Quick hands with line drive approach. Swing is slightly uphill with a bat speed of 83 mph.

Robert Zurawski, MIF, De La Salle HS, 2016

5-foot-11, 170 pound prospect. Over the top arm action across the infield for a velocity of 71 mph.  Gets out and around the baseball well, good range, and hands. Ran a 4.57 home to 1st. Narrow base with good extension through the baseball, slight uphill swing on pitches up. Bat speed of 81 mph.

Sam Benschoter, RHP/SS, Tecumseh, 2016

6-foot-2, 175 pound long and lanky athletic build. Arm speed was intriguing on the mound with his fastball at 88-89 mph. Gets downhill well with great command of his fastball and change-up. Change-up has good sink at 74 mph. Curve-ball is 68-72 mph, will need to develop better command to add as a third pitch. At shortstop, he showed good range and hands. Needs to get hands out in-front more to get lower on ground balls. Threw 82 mph across the infield. Had good strength and pop in his bat from the left side. Bat speed was 87 mph with using a load, will gain more bat speed with better weight transfer. Ran a 4.35 home to 1st.

Sam Rizzo, OF/RHP, Henry Ford HS, 2016

6-foot, 165 pound long and lanky build prospect. Crossfire arm action that misses glove side. Fastball sits 74-78 mph. Curve-ball just spins at 61-64 mph. Change-up is best off speed pitch with good sink at 70-72 mph. Showed a long arm action from the outfield at 78 mph. Good footwork and handles glove well, arm accuracy lacks at this time. Ran a 4.66 home to 1st. Toe tap and strides open with his stance at the plate. Strong bat with a middle approach at the plate. Bat speed registered at 76 mph.

Sammy Lee, 3B, Milford HS, 2016

Simon Lidwell, RHP/OF, Sterling Heights Stevenson HS, 2016

5-foot-10, 160 pound prospect. Athletic build with short stride who mixes his pitches well. Fastball sat 79-81. Curve-ball had good depth at 60 mph. Showed good feel in the outfield with his glove and feet. Arm accuracy need to improve at 83 mph. Good setup at the plate with a middle approach. Has a slight uphill swing, bat registered at 81 mph.

Thomas Brumfield, LHP, Bishop Foley HS, 2016

5-foot-10, 160 pound left-handed prospect. High ¾ arm slot from the left side with a good strong build and clean mechanics. Fastball is 81-82 with some arm side run. Slider was 66-70 with some late hard break. Change-up has good sink but can flatten out if over thrown at 76-77 mph. Young lefty with ability to develop.

6-foot, 160 pound quick twitch athlete. Long arm slot across the infield at 77 mph. Good approach around and through the baseball with his glove and footwork. Ran a 4.52 home to 1st. 6-foot, 165 pound strong build prospect. Does everything well in the outfield, plus actions with glove. Good carry on arm, velocity from outfield was 74 mph. Ran a 4.1 home to 1st. Good separation at the plate with some pop in his bat. Bat speed registered at 84 mph.

Tyler Thorington, RHP/MIF, Wyandotte Roosevelt, 2016

6-foot-3, 185 pound long and lanky prospect. Fastball sits 82 – 86 mph with good command to both sides of the plate. Curve-ball has good depth at times at 75-78 mph. Change-up was straight at 74 mph. Wraps arm and throws across his body. Showed soft hands and a strong arm across the infield at 82 mph. Ran a 4.81 home to 1st. Has strength in his bat with a pull approach at the plate. 5-foot-11, 190 pound strong quick twitch athlete. Competes well on the mound and throw strikes with all three pitches. Mixes arm slots a lot; fastball sits 82-85 with good movement. 5-foot-9, 150 pound athletic prospect. Showed good skills with his glove and feet in the outfield. Has an accurate arm at 81 mph. Ran a 4.46 home to 1st. Quick hands and strong bat from the left side of the plate. Swing gets long on balls on outer half. Bat speed registered at 80 mph.

Zach Prystash, OF, Northville HS, 2016

5-foot-7, 150 pound switch hitting prospect. Glove and feet work well in the outfield tracking down the ball and getting it quickly. Lacks accuracy with his arm. Short compact swing from the right-side, ability to hit to all fields.  Swing is longer from the left-side, has more pull power. Ran 4.59 home to 1st  from the left side of the plate.

Zak Zabonick, C, Macomb Dakota, 2016

6-foot-2, 196 pound athletic catching prospect. Quick footwork and transfer allow for a 1.91-2.08 pop time. Receives and sways to pitches well. Blocking needs to quicken up to get to balls. Ran a 4.24 home to 1st. Open stance to an open stride with good pop to pull side. Creates tremendous bat speed at 90 mph.

2017 PROSPECTS

Brenden Lovell, RHP/INF, Vicksburg HS, 2017

6-foot-2, 160 pound athletic prospect. Showed good arm speed, throws hard across body which hinders his control. Fastball was 81-84 mph. Located a slurve well at 63 mph. Change-up was 73 mph. Showed good hands and actions in the infield. Accuracy lacked on throws across the infield. Ran a 4.53 home to 1st. Showed a line drive approach at the plate with good extension through the baseball. Bat speed registered at 87 mph.

Caleb Balgaard, SS/OF, Howell HS, 2017

6-foot-2, 180 pound strong athletic build prospect. Emerged as one of the best 2017 prospects in Michigan. Showed great ability to work through and around the baseball. Hands are soft with quick transfers. Accuracy on throws will need to clean up, arm topped at 80 mph across the infield. Bat speed was 89 mph. Swing will take him to a higher level quickly. Showed power with no stride approach, gets great extension through the ball. Ran a 4.56 home to 1st.

Cameron Waller, 1B/LHP, Western MI Christian HS, 2017

6-foot-2, 225 pound big strong prospect. Long levers work well from the left side on the mound. Fastball sits 77-79 mph with good arm side run. Curve-ball is 55-59 mph and change-up at 60-61 mph. Commands all three pitches for strikes. Good hands and arm strength of 77 mph at first base. Ran a 4.86 home to 1st. Big strong swing with a pull approach, swing can get long on pitches on the outer third of plate. Bat speed registered at 82 mph.

Carsie Walker, RHP/SS, Saugatuck HS, 2017

5-foot-11, 155 pound athletic prospect.  Locates pitches well, fastball is straight at 76-77 mph. Curve-ball has big depth at 70 mph. Velocity of pitches will increase with maturity and strength. Showed good feel in the infield with his hands and feet. Threw 74 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.93 home to 1st. Has a jerky load at the plate. Pull power with bat speed registered at 74 mph.

6-foot, 175 pound athletic prospect. Long arm with good approach to baseball. Hands and feet work well on the infield. Threw 69 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.44 home to 1st. Gets back and down well, bats gets long at times at the plate. Bat speed registered at 84 mph.

Cole Charlesworth, C/OF, Muskegon CC HS, 2017

5-foot-9, 150 pound prospect. Gets behind and through flyballs well, range is good, along with his glove. Threw 67 mph from the outfield. Ran a 4.29 home to 1st. Quick hands with a pull approach at the plate, barrels up the baseball well. Bat speed of 76 mph.

Ethan Pawlich, OF/3B, Rochester Adams HS, 2017

5-foot-8, 137 pound athletic prospect. Clean arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sits 61-64 mph. Change-up with some sink at 51 mph. Curve-ball is 49-53 mph. Shows great actions in the outfield with his glove and footwork. Threw 63 mph from outfield. Inside/out swing with the ability to hit to all fields. Uses lower half well, bat speed was registered at 71 mph.

Gehrig Anglin, SS/RHP, University Leggitt, 2017

6-foot-2, 170 pound long and lanky prospect. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot across his body. Commands fastball well at 77-79 mph. Curveball has good depth at 65-71, and change-up at 74 mph. Short arm action from third base with a 74 mph velocity across the infield. Good hands and middle approach. Bat speed registered at 70 mph. Game winning pitcher as a freshman in the state finals make him a great player to follow. 

Hayden Cross, SS/RHP, Haslett HS, 2017

5-foot-6, 130 pound prospect. Showed command and ability to throw 3 pitches for strikes. Fastball sat at 70-72, curve-ball at 62-65, and change-up sitting at 64. Weight gain and maturity will add arm strength. Good approach on the infield with hand and feet working around baseball well. Threw 72 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.67 home to 1st. Gets a good separation at the plate with a short compact swing. Has ability to hit to all fields and shows good extension through the baseball. Bat speed registered at 76 mph.

Jarrod Melle, RHP, Lowell HS, 2017

6-foot-2, 205 pound big strong prospect. Quick tempo on the mound with plus size and arm strength. Falls to 1B side and miss glove side. Fastball sits 81-82 mph. Change-up has great arm side sink at 72-73. Young prospect to follow. 

Jesse Heikkinen, LHP, Holt HS, 2017

5-foot-11, 150 pound athletic prospect. Long loose arm from a high ¾ slot. Fastball sits 80-83 with good command. Curve-ball is a legitimate out pitch sitting 70-72 mph, change-up has good sink at 70-74 mph. A good young lanky frame with three pitches for strikes and movement on all three to pitches to create swing and misses will allow for a nice prospect to follow.

Joey Merucci, C, Central Catholic, 2017

5-foot-10, 145 pound prospect. Showed quick hands on his transfers behind the plate, pop time was 2.08-2.22. Receives the ball well and sticks pitches in the strike zone. High base in-stance creates a slower blocking skills. Ran a 4.42 home to first. Good approach at the plate with pull power potential. Starts open and strides open. Bat speed was registered at 73.

Logan Buczkowski, RHP, Mt Pleasant HS, 2017

6-foot-1, 195 pound strong athletic prospect. Feels up the strike zone with his fastball and curve-ball. Strong build will add velocity in years to come, needs to create more leverage with his pitches. Fastball sat 77-80 mph. Curve-ball was a 12/6 at 70 mph and has the ability to be an out pitch.

Lucas McGuire, RHP/3B, Sterling Heights Stevenson HS, 2017

6-foot-1, 180 pound strong athlete. Showed solid mechanics on the mound with the ability to command his pitches. Fastball sat 76-78. Change-up showed good sink at 71-73. Showed good hands and solid footwork in the infield. Gets a low ¾ arm slot across the infield, which hurts his accuracy. Strong bat at the plate with good extension through the baseball. Bat speed was at 90. Ran a 4.74 home to 1st.

Michael Wischer, SS, Plmouth HS, 2017

5-foot-9, 130 pound athletic prospect. Long arm across infield with a velocity of 73 mph. Hands and feet work well around and through the baseball. Ran 4.18 home to 1st. Quick strong swing from the left side of the plate. Line drive approach with a slight uphill swing. Bat speed registered at 77 MPH.

Nathan Stephens, C, Lowell HS, 2017

5-foot-11, 180 pound young catching prospect with plus tools. Solid base with quick reaction to balls in the dirt. Receives the ball well and sways to pitches with ease. Quick transfers and a strong arm allow for a pop time of 1.89-2.10. Ran a 4.64 home to 1st. Good separation and strength in his bat allow for pull power at the plate. Bat speed registered at 78 mph.

Nicklaus Wayman, RHP, Allen Park, 2017

6-foot-2, 150 pound long and lanky pitching prospect. Gets squared up well to the plate and gets downhill well.  Fastball showed good arm side run at 75-76 mph. Curve-ball needs to pick up speed was clocked at 62-64. Will be a young arm to watch develop.

Nolan Petroelje, RHP, Hudsonville HS, 2017

6-foot-3, 190 pound pitching prospect with high ceiling. Feels up the strike zone, gets good leverage and extension on his pitches. Fastball gets on hitters at 80-84 mph. Curveball has good depth at 65-66 mph. Will be a good strong arm to follow.

Obie Ricumstrict, SS/RHP, Mt. Pleasant HS, 2017

5-foot-11, 145 pound long and lanky athletic prospect. On the mound throws strikes mixes well with his fastball and change-up. Fastball sits 78-79 with a little sink; curve-ball has a little depth at 68mph. Great actions at shortstop with excellent range and hands. Threw 75 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.24 home to 1st. Good separation and quick hands at the plate, hits to all fields well. Bat speed registered at 77 mph. Will be a good young follow in the 2017 class.

Sean O’Keefe, RHP/C, Saline, 2017

6-foot-3, 185 pound big body athletic prospect. Fastball sat 82-85 mph with cut action. Curve-ball has a slow tumble at 63-65. Change-up sits 63-69 with plus movement. Falls hard to first base side causing a lot of his pitches to miss glove side. Behind the plate creates a big frame for pitchers to throw to. Receives well, slow at blocking balls. Ran a 5.09 home to 1st. Has strength in his swing with pull power. Swing is step in the strike zone. Bat speed was 92.

Shane Easter, MIF/RHP,2017

Big strong young prospect. Strong athletic arm falls hard to first base side. Fastball has good arm side run at 83-84 mph. Curve-ball was best off speed pitch at 69-71 mph and change-up was 74 mph. Long and lanky build creates good range in the infield. Quick hands and good footwork with his approach on the infield. Ran a 4.62 home to 1st. Gets off his backside well at the plate and creates pop in his bat. Has good plate coverage with ability to hit to all fields. Bat speed registered at 83 mph. 

Ted Eppgina, RHP, Saline HS, 2017

6-foot-2, 185 pitching prospect. Throws from a low ¾ arm slot and fills up the strike zone. Fastball sits 79-81 mph and cut action. Slider has late hard break at 67-69 mph. Will be a good follow to see develop in years to come.

Tyler Randick, INF, Flushings HS, 2017

5-foot-9, 180 pound prospect. Showed good hands and footwork in the infield. Good arm with a velocity of 77 across the infield, range will need to increase to play the middle infield. Ran 4.57 home to 1st. Good quite approach with a middle oppo approach at the plate. Bat speed registered at 83 mph.

Tyler Smith, RHP/SS, Davison HS, 2017

5-foot-9, 135 pound prospect. Fastball sits 74-76 mph with good command. 12/6 curve-ball with good depth at 62-65 mph. Better use of lower half will add velocity.
