Colton Provey Joins PBR As Tennessee Director of Scouting

A native of Columbia, Tennessee, Provey spent the last year as a graduate assistant for the Tennessee Tech University baseball team where he mainly oversaw baseball operations, scouting/analytics reports and academic affairs. Prior to joining the Tennessee Tech staff, he spent one season as a member of the 2018 Golden Eagle baseball team. A key member of the Tech pitching staff, Provey became the first Golden Eagle ever to earn victories against both Vanderbilt and Tennessee. He made key appearances out of the bullpen for the Golden Eagles during their historic Super Regional Run, a team that defeated No. 2 nationally-ranked Ole Miss twice to capture the Oxford, Miss. Regional title. While at Tech, he earned the OVC Medal of Honor for academics after accumulating a 4.0 GPA as a senior.
Provey began his collegiate career at Walters State Community College, where he set both the program’s single-season and career saves records. After accepting a scholarship to South Carolina, Provey sustained an injury prior to transferring to Tennessee Tech as a fifth-year senior. In his collegiate career, Provey posted a career line of 12-2 with 15 saves and 131 strikeouts in 121 innings. He also was a member of teams that made appearances in a JUCO World Series, won two regular season conference championships, won a conference tournament title, won two NCAA Regional Championships and appeared in two NCAA Super Regionals.
Provey earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of South Carolina where he graduated Cum Laude. He also earned a Master of Professional Studies in Strategic Leadership from Tennessee Tech University.
Provey resides in Cookeville, Tennessee and will begin duties immediately with Prep Baseball Report Tennessee.
