Daily Game Round up for April 17th



Austin Bentladge from Union HS struck out twenty batters in throwing a no hitter, in one of he most dominating pitching performances in recent memory in Union’s 5-3 win over New Haven.

Jonathan Harris from Hazelwood Central struck out eighteen batters in a dominating effort against 5-1 win against McCluer. Harris also helped himself at the plate going one for four with an RBI.

No. 3 SLUH 6   No. 12 Vianney 7 (8 innings): Matt Brown hit a walk off double in the bottom of the eight inning, leading Vianney to a 7-6 win in eight innings and snapping SLHU’s eight game winning streak. Petey Spradlin had a two RBI double and Jack Klages added an RBI double to contribute to the win.

No. 4 Notre Dame 5    Scott City 1: Cody Heisserer picked up the win for Notre Dame, striking out eight and improving his record to 4-0. Justin Landewee and Chase Simmons each had two hits for Notre Dame.

No. 6 Clever 12    Hollister 5: Jordan Burnett threw a complete five hitter striking out six batters. 
Chance Wolfe, once again led the offense going  three for three with three RBIs.

No. 8 Westminster 12   Principia 0: Shane Benes continues to swing a hot bat, leading Westminster to a 12-0 win. Benes went two for three with six RBIs and a run scored. Tate Matheny also had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored

No. 9 Francis Howell 8    No. 18 Timberland 0: Howell shut out Timberland behind Calvin Munson’s no hit, five strike out effort over five innings. Austin Schenider came in for the last two innings, shutting the door on Timberland giving up one hit and zero runs. Zac Perkins had two hits on the afternoon, and every other starter except for one had a hit

No. 10 Summit Christian 6    Lee’s Summit North 14:  Behind the bats of Andrew Warner, Seth Soto, and Dallas Woods, Lee’s Summit North upset Summit Christian, 14-6.  Warner went three for five with a homerun and four RBIs, Soto two for five with three RBIs and Woods went two for five with two RBIs in the upset. Miles Kilgore picked up the win, going six innings allowing nine hits, six earned runs, and striking out four

No. 11 Rock Bridge 12   Smith Cotton 0: Rock Bridge exploded for seven runs in the fourth inning, stealing their way to a 12-0 win.  With four stolen bases in the frame, two by Mike Nemec and one by Connor Brumfield and Tyler Hill. Rock Bridge stole six bases on the day, all which led to runs crossing the plate.

No. 15 Francis Howell Central 2   Holt 1: Alex Erb gave up two hits and an unearned run over six innings leading Howell Central to a 2-1 win on Tuesday afternoon. Jayden Lumpa had a walk off RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning for the win.

No. 21 Eureka 0   Marquette 1: Starting pitcher Matt Hink out dueled Aaron Schnurbush throwing a complete game three hitter and striking out four.  Matt Scheibel drove in the lone run of the game, a two out RBI single in the first inning.

 

No. 24 Purdy 7   Mcauley Catholic 0: Cody Hall continues to lead the Purdy offense, going two for three at the plate with a double, triple, one RBI, and three runs scored.

No. 25 Cooter 0    Risco 6: After cracking the top 25, Cooter falls 6-0 at the hands of Risco. Jordan Pavy threw a complete game shut out for Risco

Oran 8    Saxony Lutheran0: Alex Huering set the stage for Oran’s shut out win over Saxony Lutheran. Huering went two for five with a two RBI double and RBI single, while Blake Carlyle went three for four with three RBIs.

Lindbergh 11    Fox 0: Jack Manley led the Lindbergh offense with a perfect three for three afternoon with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored. Jay Heller shut down the Fox offense, throwing five scoreless innings and scattering five hits.

Troy 1   Ft. Zumwalt West 0: Brendon Allen shut down the Ft. Zumwalt West offense, throwing a complete game surrendering four hits and fanning twelve batters.  Troy scored the only run of the game in the top of the fourth inning, when Chris Bantz singled driving in Dan Riveria.

Northwest Cedar Hill 1   Seckman 0: Michael Harris pitched Cedar Hill to a 1-0 victory, with a complete game, two hit shut out outing, striking out six.

Webb City 9   Willard 0: The Webb City offense came alive, with Gage Belcher, Seth Watkins, and Austin White each collecting two RBIs, while Breckin William kept the Willard offense off balance scattering four hits over seven innings, striking out five.

Fulton 5   Kirksville 4 (10 innings): Burke Echelmeier drove home the winning run, an RBI single in the tenth inning to secure the win for Fulton. Jack Nicholson picked up the win in relief, throwing three inning of shut out ball.

Kickapoo 11   Glendale 1: Ryan Rippee faced eighteen batters in a short five-inning game, allowing only one hit, and also driving in the first run of the game. Kickapoo put the game away in the fifth inning, scoring nine runs in the frame. Brodie Kern, Hunter Kniepfel and Ryan Stevens collected 2 hits on the afternoon.

Cabool 9   Dora 4: Drew Pearson led the Cabool offense, going three for five with two doubles, a single, one RBI, and three runs scored.  Vince McKee drove in three and Dylan Smith drove in two en route to the win.
