Daily Game Round up for April 30th from Missouri



Weather canned quite a few games on Monday, but there was still some baseball played throughout the state. Here are some of Monday's highlights:

No. 1 Liberty 3 No. 20 Blue Springs South 0: Nathan Winfrey went two for two with an RBI and Todd Hinkley also drove in a run for Liberty in a tight game against Blue Springs South. Spencer Schwandt threw a complete game shutout.

No. 2 Notre Dame 11 Jackson 3: Notre Dame brought home the championship of the SEMO Conference tournament with a 11-3 win over Jackson at Capaha Field. Cody Heisserer powered Notre Dame, going two for four with a home run, double, and three RBIs. Jonathan Lynch picked up the win, allowing two runs and five hits in five innings of work, while striking out five.

No. 3 Westminster 2 Lutheran South 0: In a Metro League Conference game, Westminster remained undefeated in conference play defeating Lutheran South for the second time this season, 2-0. Ben Lovell kept the South offense in check, throwing a complete game three hitter. Luke Turner provided the offense for Westminster with a two RBI double.

No. 9 Kennett 3 Sikeston 1: Kennett came out on top in the consolation championship game of the SEMO Conference tournament with a 3-1 win over Sikeston. Kevonte Mitchell went one for three with a two RBI triple, and Collin Smith shut down the Sikeston offense with six innings pitched allowing one earned run.

Lafayette 10 NW Cedar Hill 0: The DuPont duo, senior William and sophomore Cole, led Lafayette to a 10-0 win on Monday afternoon. William had a perfect three for three day at the plate with a triple, two RBIs, and two runs scored, while Cole picked up the win throwing five innings of one hit ball. Blake Hoover also contributed on offense, going three for three with two RBIs.

Lindbergh 5 Summit 2: Jay Heller threw a complete game, striking out six and surrendering two earned runs en route to a Suburban West Conference win. Jack Manley led the offense with two RBIs and a run scored. Zak Jones, Kendall Helbert, and Matt Feldt each had two hits for Lindbergh

Branson 5 Hillcrest 0: Parker O’Dell went two for three with a homerun, double, RBI, and run scored to lead the Branson offense over Hillcrest.  Alex Stephens picked up his third win of the season (3-1) going six innings and scattering five hits, while striking out nine.

John Burroughs 8 MICDS 4: Alex Jasiek struck out eleven batters in a complete game effort, while Davey Holmes led the offense going two for three with two RBIs and two runs scored in the game between the in-town and conference rivals.
