Jacksonville 4, Rochester 3
Jacksonville (3-0; 2-0) swept away Rochester 4-3 on Thursday behind the red-hot bat of Crimson Floyd Lomolino. Lomolino ripped a booming RBI double to highlight the Crimson three-run fourth inning. Dustin Woodcock also doubled home a run in the fourth.

Andrew Jackson improved to 2-0 on the season with relief help from Crimson closer Zeke Rowe who nailed down his second save. Rochester falls to 1-2 overall, 0-2 in the Central State 8.

Nonconference

Red Bud 8, Wood River 6
The Musketeers improved to 4-0 on the season with a thrilling come-from-behind victory on Thursday. Senior Jake Miller pitched and hit the Musketeers to victory. Miller (2-0) allowed one run and three hits in five innings with nine strikeouts. Miller had a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate with four runs scored and three RBI. Senior Colin Wiegard had a pair of hits and drove home four Musketeer runs.  

Mascoutah 4, Roxana 0
Mascoutah (3-1) blanked Roxana 4-0 on Thursday. Senior Tyler Green and junior Austin Waugh combined for a two-hit shutout. Green fired four no-hit innings to pick up the win and improve to 2-0 on the season. Waugh fired three shutout innings allowing a pair of hits to nail down the save. Senior Zach Lindsay had a perfect 2-for-2 day at the plate with two RBI to lead the Indian attack.

Carlyle 7, Woodlawn 0
Carlyle (4-1) rolled past Woodlawn 7-0 on Thursday behind the big bats of junior Matt Hilmes and senior Tyson Boehne. Hilmes had three hits, including a triple and an RBI. Boehne doubled twice and drove home an Indian run. Junior Logan Zachry (1-0) fired five shutout innings allowing three hits with seven strikeouts to pick up the win on the mound.   

Kirkwood (MO) 11, Champaign Centennial 10
Champaign Centennial (2-2) lost a heart-breaker, 11-10 to Kirkwood (MO) 1-3, in a game played in Fort Pierce, Missouri on Thursday.  

Belleville West 10, Metro-East Lutheran 5
The Maroons won their season opener 10-5 on Thursday. Belleville West (1-0) opened up a 9-0 lead after four innings for starting and winning pitcher Cory Renois (1-0). Renois allowed one hit in his four shutout innings and struck out nine. Renois helped himself driving in two Maroon runs. Seniors Aaron Meyer and Alex Sharos each had a pair of RBI’s for BW. Metro East-Lutheran falls to 2-2.

Collinsville 11, Cahokia 1
The Kahoks improved to 2-0 with a 11-1 romp past Cahokia (0-3) on Thursday. Senior Chris Mathes had a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate with an RBI. Junior Spencer Thomas chipped in with a pair of RBI and junior Kyle Reeves (1-0) fired four shutout innings allowing just two hits to pick up the win on the mound.

De Paul Catholic (NJ) 12, Champaign Central 11
Champaign Central (3-3) lost a slugfest in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Thursday. The Maroons picked up wins this week over St. Joseph’s (MD) 4-3 and shutout Green County (ARK) 3-0.
