North Little Rock High School 9 vs Searcy High School 2

North Little Rock HS defeated Searcy HS 9-2 in the first game of the conference double header Thursday. The Wildcats used a big sixth inning and a solid pitching performance by 2016 RHP Christian Goshen.
 
Goshen pitched 7 innings, allowing 2 earned runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He commanded his fastball on both sides of the plate. His secondary pitches complimented his fastball well, he threw a get me over curveball and sharp slider to keep hitters off-balance.

Offensively the Wildcats scored 2 runs in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd and 5 in the third. Offensively they were led by 2016 C Ben Baily. Baily was 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs.

2016 RHP Austin Allen settled in, during the middle innings to keep the Searcy in the competitive game. Allen located his fastball down in the strike zone and did a good job mixing things up with a change up and curveball.

Offensively the Lions were led by 2015 CF Cole Branson who went 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI.

Game two of the double header went down to the wire as Searcy had the bases loaded down 4-1, 2017 RHP/OF Nick Butler struck out the batter to complete his 6 out save.

North Little Rock road the hot bat 2015 OF Danny Mitchell Jr and 2016  C Ben Baily to score 4 runs and received a solid outings from its young pitching staff.

Mitchell went 3 for 4 with runs scored, while Bailey went 1 for 4 but got the big hit driving in 2 runs. On the mound for the Wildcats they used Owen Stuckey, 3.33 innings pitched with 1 run and 4 strike outs and the win, JJ Askins for 1.66 innings with 0 runs and 1 strike out, and Nick Butler who recorded the last 6 outs giving up 0 runs and two hits.

Searcy received a solid outing by 2015 RHP Cole Branson. Branson pitched 5 innings allowing 4 runs all which were unearned, while striking out 12 hitters. He located his fastball well and put hitters away with a sharp curveball.

Offensively the Lions were led by 2017 CIF, Adrian Hannah who went 2 for 3 with a walk.
