Saturday March 28, 2015 was a busy day around the state here are a few notes and scores from the day.
Catholic High School, completed its four game sweep of the Central Arkansas Invitational by defeating Kickapoo High School 5-4. The Rockets were led by 2015’s RHP Harper Vondran and C William Hancock. Hancock doubled in the game winning run and Vondran picked up the victory on the mound. Catholic will be back in action Tuesday with a conference matchup between Bryant HS.
2016 RHP Justin Swecker from Genoa Central HS threw a complete game no-hitter against Arkansas HS. Swecker struck out 8 and walked 5 in his 7 innings of worked. Offensively Genoa received a good day from 2015 MIF Austin Cutchal and OF/1B Cale Ridling. Cutchal went 2 for 2 with a double, a walk and a run scored, while Ridling was 1 for 2 with a walk and 2 RBIs.
There were several other tournaments going on besides the Central Arkansas Invitational here is who won those tournaments.
Prairie Grove Tournament; Pea Ridge HS defeated Springdale HS 9-6 in the Championship.
Magnolia Spring Break Tournament; Magnolia HS defeated Lake Hamilton HS 12-0 in the Championship.
Ozarks Classic; Harrison HS defeated Neosho HS (MO) 9-4 in the Championship.
Billy Morgan Classic: Hamburg HS defeated Brookland HS 2-1 in the Championship.
