Southside HS vs Heritage HS split a double header on March 17th 2016.
Game one was a pitchers dual between 2015 RHP Ty Harpenau (Texas Tech) and 2015 LHP Kacey Murphy (Arkansas). Harpenau took the loss for Southside pitching 6 1/3 innings giving up 2 earned runs striking out 14. Murphy picked up the victory giving up 2 earned runs striking out 8, in a complete game effort.
Game two Southside answered back with 4 runs in the first and received a good outing from 2017 LHP Dalton Reeves. After the first LHP Ty Harris (Arkansas) settled in for Heritage pitching 4 consecutive shout innings. In the sixth Southside broke open the game taking advantage of 3 Heritage errors and 2 walks to score 6 runs. Dalton Reeves threw a complete game giving up two earned runs while striking out 7 and allowing just two hits.
