Daily Roundup: April 8 Games

#1 Elkhart Central 14 Mishawaka 0
– Cory Malcom got the win throwing all five innings allowing just two hits, one walk, and striking out eight, at the plate he was 2-3 with a RBI and a run. Kaleb DeFreese and Riley Futterknecht led the offense both going 3-4 with a double, RBI, and three runs scored. Matt Eppers was 2-3 with a triple, three RBI, and two runs scored as Elkhart Central improved to 4-0 on the year. 

#5 Andrean 4 Griffith 3 – Zac Ryan got the win throwing all seven innings allowing four hits and striking out ten. 

Providence 5 #11 Jeffersonville 4 F/8 – Ben Katcher laid down a squeeze bunt in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Providence the win and improve to 4-0 on the season. Nick Campbell and Tyler Simms both had RBI in the game.

South Central 8 #19 Valparaiso 6 

#20 Penn 16 Washington 0 – Chad Whitmer got his second win of the year allowing just two hits and striking out eight in five innings of work. 

#24 Center Grove 10 Lawrence North 0 – Will Todd continued his hot hitting going 4-4 with a double, two homeruns, six RBI, and four runs scored. Terrance Parks was 2-3 with a double and two runs scored. Nick Owen got the win throwing three innings allowing no hits and striking out four. Josh Piper threw the final three innings allowing one hit and striking out four. 

#25 Terre Haute North 21 Riverton Parke 0 – Tristan Pate got the win throwing three innings of no hit baseball while striking out seven. Gabe Sevigny led the offense going 4-5 with two RBI and three runs. TJ Collett homered, drove in six runs, and scored three times, Sam Wolf was 2-3 with a double, three RBI, and three runs, and Colton Pittman was 3-3 with a homerun, five RBI, and two runs scored. 

Adams Central 17 FW Dwenger 15 F/8 – Adams Central moved to 4-0 on the season thanks to a two run double from Conner Lengerich that broke a 15-15 tie. Lengerich finished the day 5-6 at the plate. Isaac Soldner had three hits in the game and Isaac Luginbill doubled and hit a homerun. Dalton Combs, Kyle Baker, Brady Butler, and Jaron Bittner each had two hits in the game.

Angola 7 Garrett 3 – Skylar Parker got the win throwing six innings allowing three runs on three hits and striking out eight. Justin Davis was 2-4 with a homerun and three RBI to lead the offense. Tyler Kennedy drove in two runs and Nick Chao scored three times. 

Bishop Chatard 16 Warren Central 0 – Thomas Barbara got the win throwing four innings of one hit baseball striking out five. Michael Annee had a big day at the plate going 3-4 with two doubles and four RBI. Joe Godlevske was 3-5 with three RBI and two runs, Brian Ball was 4-5 with two RBI and three runs, and Andrew Pluckebaum was 2-4 with two RBI.

Bremen 3 Elkhart Christian 2 – Jacob Bennitt got the win throwing 6.1 innings allowing no runs, four hits, and striking out six. Bobby Cornett and Bryce Cassel each drove in a run and Eric Knepper doubled and scored twice.

Brownsburg 12 Ben Davis 0 – Haden Shipman led the offense going 2-3 with a homerun, four RBI, and two runs scored. Tyler Houston and Mike Hartnagel both had two hits, two RBI, and three runs scored, Hartnagel homered. Hunter Leum drove in two runs and Sam Comer drove in one. 

Charlestown 7 Eastern (Pekin) 0 – Drew Reich moved to 3-0 on the season with a complete game win allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out 13. Jason Houchens was 3-3 at the plate.

Delta 19 Alexandria Monroe 9 – Delta broke open a close game with a nine run sixth inning. Alex Maloney had a big day at the plate hitting two homeruns and driving in six runs. Austin Conway also hit two homeruns, driving in two runs, and scoring three times. Cade Jones was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored and Trey Bland was 2-3 with a homerun and two runs scored. 

Faith Christian 7 University 5 – Argo got the win for Faith Christian when the game was called in the seventh because of lightning then darkness. Isaac Mervis had a big day for University going 4-4 with a homerun and two RBI. 

Hamilton Southeastern 10 Carmel 6 – Cody Christiansen got the win throwing six innings allowing just one earned run, five hits, and striking out seven. Bryan Roberts was 2-4 with a double and two RBI. Brenden Burns was 2-3 with a RBI and a run and Jake Watrous was 2-4 with a two doubles, RBI, and two runs.

Heritage Hills 11 Evansville Bosse 1 – Cory Ebelhar threw all five innings allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out 10. Matt Waggoner led the offense going 4-4 with a triple, four RBI, and three runs scored. Torrin Madden was 2-4 with a triple, RBI, and two runs scored and Cody Siefrig drove in two runs.

Jac-Cen-Del 10 Shawe Memorial 5 – Joe Harlemert was 2-4 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored, Brytton Rogers was 2-3 with a double and two RBI, and Riley Thomas was 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Alex Schoettmer doubled and drove in two runs. 

Kankakee Valley 6 Lowell 4 – Al Berdine doubled and drove in two runs, Isaac Hernandez was 2-3, and Tim Schoonveld drove in a run.

Lakeland 15 Bethany Christian 0 – Morgan Moore had big day at the plate going 2-3 with two homeruns and seven RBI. Kyle Casper was 2-3 with a homerun and four RBI. William Kelly was 3-3 with two RBI and three runs and Dustin Cunningham was 3-3 with four runs scored.

Lapel 10 Wes-Del 9 – Lapel trailed by one going into the bottom of the seventh, but got two runs to get the walk off win. John Magers got the win throwing four innings allowing one run on three hits and striking out three, he also drove in two runs at the plate. Adam Taylor was 3-3 with two runs and Brady Cherry was 3-5 with a double and three runs scored. 

Marion 6 Homestead 5 – Marion got a five inning win when the game was called due to weather. Devon Sheward and Robert Shugart both homered and Alex Rittenhouse drove in two runs. McLean Trieglaff homered in the loss for Homestead.

North Central (Indy) 4 Lawrence Central 1 – Jensen Kirch got the win on the mound throwing all seven innings allowing one run on four hits and striking out six. Andrew Sullivan doubled and drove in two runs, Mac Lozer tripled and drove in a run, and Andrew Riley doubled and drove in a run.

Perry Meridian 7 New Palestine 3 – Brendan Dudas got the win throwing all seven innings allowing just one earned run and striking out five, he also drove in a run at the plate. Max Heyob led the offense going 3-3 with a double and two RBI. Christian Abner was 1-2 with a RBI and two runs and Dillon Douthitt doubled and drove in a run.

Rochester 6 Culver 1 – Taylor Medina got the win throwing five innings allowing one run on three hits and striking out seven. Andrew Feldman and Cyrus Holland were both 2-4 in the game, Feldman scored twice and Holland drove in a run. Peyton Showley drove in two and scored twice and Levi Brown drove in two runs.

SB St. Joes 12 Mishawaka Marian 0 – Tyler Beck had a big day at the plate and on the mound. On the mound he threw all five innings allowing just two hits and at the plate he doubled, homered, and drove in four runs.

Shelbyville 13 Morristown 2 – JD Cox got the win throwing all five innings allowing one earned run, three hits, and striking out 11, he also tripled and scored two runs. Chase McColley was 3-3 with two doubles, a RBI, and two runs scored. Matt Simmerman was 1-2 with a double, three RBI, and three runs scored.

South Newton 10 Fountain Central 9 –Luke Kifner led the offense going 2-4 with a double and four RBI. Joe Wernert was 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored and Skylar Sanders was 2-2 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored.

South Putnam 8 Cascade 6 – Wyatt Nees was 2-4 with a double and three RBI and Tyler Long drove in three runs and scored once.

Wabash 7 Oak Hill 5 – Wabash was up 10-4 when the game was called due to weather, reverting back to a 7-4 win. Shea Beauchamp hit a two run homerun in the first inning. Isaih Smith and Kody Fuller both hit homeruns. Grant Sailors was 2-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Devin Hostetler got the win throwing four innings allowing one unearned run, four hits, and striking out three.

Washington 13 Wood Memorial 0 – Tyler Edmiston got the win throwing five innings allowing one hit and one walk while striking out eight. Brayden Walls was 2-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and three runs scored and Kyle Pfender was 2-3 with a double and two RBI. Max Smith, Nathan Sult, and Edmiston each drove in two runs.

White River Valley 15 Eminence 1 – Austin Frye got the win throwing all five innings allowing one unearned run, three hits, and striking out six. Houston Boram had a big day at the plate going 2-3 with a triple, homerun, four RBI, and two runs. Trent Carpenter was 2-2 with a double, two RBI, and three runs. Cade Hill was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.
