The defending 4A champs came back from a 5-1 deficit in the 6th to beat the Rockets in nine innings. Gators OF Kyle Hetherington went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. 1B Blake Kuffel singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the 9th to earn South its first win of the season.

Corsairs starter Jay Ward got the win on the mound and struck out five.
Glenbrook North 8 No. 24 St. Rita 1 MORE
The Mustangs dropped to 0-2 in the early going of the season with a loss to Glenbrook North. A five-run first doomed St. Rita in Northbrook.

Morgan Park took a 5-1 lead after three innings and cruised to a win Saturday. Morgan Park scored on a triple by Alex Pittman in the 1st, a walk by Miles Norman, and a single by Khyle Radcliffe in the second inning.

St. Francis took an 8-0 lead before allowing its first run. Nino Kosmetatos threw five innings and struck out 10 batters in the win, while Ben Radel and Tanner Spinks each drove in two runs at the plate.

Willowbrook scored two runs in the bottom of the 6th to take a 3-0 lead, thanks to Trevor Jalosynski's run-scoring double. Ryan Mintz and Vince Ruchala combined to shutout South and only allowed a single hit.
