Daily Roundup: March 24th

Kyle Bates
MOKAN Scouting Director

There has been a great deal of attention on Kansas of late due to the number of players being looked at for the draft. With Riley Pint and Joey Wentz starting off their 2016 campaigns this week, a large following of scouts have been in the area.

Wentz started for Shawnee Mission East on Tuesday against a very good Blue Valley team. Wentz attacked the zone with an impressive fastball while combining that with some good change ups. He also helped east offensively with a double to left in the 3rd. Wentz ended up with 4IP, 6K’s, 2BB’s.

Pint started for St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday. Pint started his day off in the top half of the first with a grand slam to put Aquinas up 4-0 right out of the gate. Riley was impressive on the bump as he typically is. He commanded the fastball while also throwing in a good mix of breaking pitches for strikes. He finished the day with 3IP 7k’s 1h 0BB.

Today, the 6’7 Arkansas commit Lucas Krull, will take the mound for Mill Valley for his first start of the spring.
