Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights from around the state on Monday, March 27, 2017.


Clarksville 14, Oneonta (AL) 1
Cody Spurgeon delivered another strong performance on the mound for the Wildcats on Monday afternoon, dealing 4 innings of 2-hit baseball.  Spurgeon allowed 1 unearned run and struck out 4.  Garrett Spain, Luke Chilcutt, Kendall Tyrell, and Ford Cooper combined to go 8-11 with 7 RBI and 7 runs scored to power the offense.

Clarksville 3, Sweetwater (AL) 0
Teal Young dealt the complete-game shutout in Monday's second win for the Wildcats.  Young allowed only 2 hits and 2 walks and was able to strike out 5.  Skyler Luna and Calen Kimmell each had 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 1 run to lead the offense.

Brighton 9, Hayden (AL) 2
Eli Davis and Cole Wilkins each had 3 hits for the Cardinals in their Monday afternoon victory.  The two also combined to score 3 runs and drive in 2, while Dalton Rushing drove in 3 of his own.  Matthew Jacome recorded the complete-game W on the mound, striking out 12 in his 7 innings of work.

Chattanooga Christian 11, Grundy County 1
John Rhodes helped lead the Chargers to a 5-inning victory on Monday evening, finishing 3-3 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  Amos Davenport also went 3-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs.  Matthew Mercer went 2-3 and tossed all 5 innings on the mound, striking out 7 and allowing only 2 hits and 3 walks.  

CAK 11, Alcoa 0
Spencer Strider shined again on Monday evening, striking out 10 hitters in his 5 innings of work. Strider allowed only 1 hit and 1 walk.  Eight Warriors finished with exactly 1 hit in the win, led by Connor Quinn's 3 RBI.

Farragut 5, Maryville 3
The Admirals gutted out a victory on Monday evening, thanks in part to a 3-4 performance from Justen Freeman.  Freeman finished with a double, 1 run, and 1 RBI.  Carson Wright and Cade Burkey both went 2-4.  Owen Kovacs got the W, while Brad Day recorded the save by tossing the final 1.2 innings in scoreless fashion.

Jefferson County 13, Cherokee 5
The Patriots racked up another W on Monday night by riding their offense to the finish line.  Trevor Whitley, Logan Flynn, and Tyler Shaver combined to go 5-10 with 6 RBI and 5 runs scored.  Whitley also tossed the final inning and struck out all 3 batters he faced.

Collierville 4, Bartlett 1
Collierville received a strong performance by Corey Hardeman on Monday night, dealing 6.1 innings of 4-hit baseball.  Hardeman struck out 6 and walked none in allowing only 1 run.  Parker Moss (2-4, 1 run), Christopher Shaw (2-3, 2 RBI), and Evan Chatlosh (1-3, 2 RBI) had the only hits for the Dragons in the win.
