Matoaca 6, Caroline 4

Caroline and Matoaca both scored four runs a piece in the third inning, but it would be Matoaca reclaiming that lead in the bottom of the 6th on an Ethan Everhart single that would make it 5-4 and a Lucas Carmichael single that would run it up to 6-4. Matoaca will play Midlothian at 1 pm on day three for the 5th place game.

Bobby Johnson got the win for Matoaca throwing six and one-third scattering three hits, with five strikeouts, and did not give up an earned run.

Lucas Carmichael was 2-3 with a triple, one RBI, and one run scored. Ethan Everhart was 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.

John Chapman of Caroline was 1-3 with a triple and three RBI.

Midlothian 5, Monacan 4

Midlothian used a four run 5th inning to pull ahead and would ultimately hold off a late Monacan rally to move to one and one in the tournament.

Both pitchers were good early as they would scatter the hits and consistently work out of trouble.

Monacan’s Blake Hugenberg threw four and two-thirds and scattered six hits and allowed four earned runs.

Midlothian’s Alex Kyte threw six and one-third, gave up three earned runs, and struck out seven.

Jalen Greenidge had another nice day for Monacan going 2-2 with two runs scored.

Midlo’s Christian Chambers was 2-4 with a triple and one run scored.

Evan Heine was 1-3 with one RBI and one run scored for Midlothian.

Lee-Davis 2, St. Christopher’s 1

This was a pitching duel from the start as St. Chris’ Patrick Routsis would square off with Jake Stanley of Lee-Davis. But it would be the big relief performance of Connor Sorokowski that would slam the door on St. Chris and allow the Confederates to come away with a 2-1 victory.

Routsis threw six and one-third scattering five hits, allowed two earned runs, and struck out thirteen along the way.

Griffin O’Ferrall and Jack Cinella were both 1-3 on the day for St. Christopher’s.

Jake Stanley got the win and threw three and one-third allowing no earned runs and struck out five.

Connor Sorokowski threw three and two-thirds and got the extended save for Lee-Davis. Sorokowski struck out three and only gave up one hit in his outing.

Cole Jenkins was 2-3 for Lee-Davis with a double.

Nik Talley was 1-3 with one RBI and one run scored

Benedictine 7, Deep Run 1

The arm of Casey Green and the bat of Jack Hall and Bennett Lloyd would be all Benedictine would need on the night. The Cadets used a four run 6th and would walk away with this one at a final score of 7-1.

Casey Green threw all seven, allowed one earned, scattered four hits, struck out nine, and only allowed one walk. Green also helped his own cause with a RBI double in the 6th.

Jack Hall was 2-3 with a double and a triple and two runs scored.

Bennett Lloyd was 2-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Tyler Bradt was on the mound for Deep Run. He allowed three earned runs in five and one-third innings. Bradt struck out eight in his ouing.

Brooks Mazey had a deep double to center that would get the Wildcats on board and was 1-3 on the day.
