Jasper, IN - Evansville North and Silver Creek faced off on Saturday morning in the Hall of Famme Baseball Classic. Evansville North's offense got going early scoring in each of the first four innings, and scoring in every inning except the fifth.

In the first, they did their damage with two outs getting a two out bases loaded single to center from Drew Greenhaw. In the second they added three more with a sac fly from Heath Spindler, a single from Curran Davis (2013), and an error allowed another run, putting them up 5-0 after one and a half innings. Silver Creek got on the board in the bottom half scoring on a bases loaded balk. In the third Chase Witler (2015) drove in two runs on a single and in the fourth North added another run on a RBI triple from Lucas Scarlett (2013).

Silver Creek scored two in the third and two in the fifth to cut into the decifit. In the third Lucas Barnett (2013) singled in a run and Luke McIntyre (2012) hit a dip sac fly to bring home another. In the fifth Silver Creek scored once on an error and pinch hitter Tim Dierking (2012) singled to left bringing home another run and cutting the deficit to 8-5 after five innings.

North added a run in the sixth on a perfect squeeze bunt by Greenhaw. In the bottom half of the inning Silver Creek looked to be starting a rally after Barnett singled in a run and stole second. Jacob Armstrong (2012, UAB commit) singled to center after that, but Spindler threw a strike home from center to get Barnett and end the inning. Alex McCune (2012) and Scarlett hit back to back RBI doubles in the top half of the 7th to extend the lead to 12-6.

In the bottom of the seventh Silver Creek put up two runs on a single from pinch hitter Quentin Bailey (2013). After another hit, North had to pull starting pitcher Zane Mauser (W, 6.2 IP) and Spencer Powers came in to close out the game getting a ground ball back to the pitcher to seal the win.

Scarlett finished the day 4-5 with two doubles, a triple, and two RBI. Devin Williams (2013) was 3-4 with a double, Whitler was 2-2 with two RBI, and McCune was 3-4 with a double and RBI. Brooks Howell (2014) was 3-4 for Silver Creek.
