Maryland 2020 Rankings: Commitment Breakdown

With currently 160 players committed in our Final 2020 Rankings update released last week, today we break down those commitments into three categories.
BREAKDOWN BY DIVSION
Of the 160 players currently committed in our recently released class of 2020 rankings, 34% of them will be playing at the Division I level this fall. 36% of the 160 players committed will be playing Division III and 20% are set to play at a Division II college/university.

BREAKDOWN BY STATE
As to be expected, the state of Maryland leads the way with 25% of the 160 players currently committed in our 2020 class rankings choosing to stay in-state to play at the next level. That leaves 75% or three-quarters of the committed players currently going out-of-state to continue their baseball careers and academics. Pennsylvania was a close second with 23% of players choosing a school within. Furthermore, 73% of the 160 players currently committed in our final class of 2020 rankings update chose a school either in Maryland, D.C., or one of the four other states bordering it: Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia. Players from across the Old Line State and Delaware in our rankings altogether will continue their college baseball careers in 22 states across the country.

The following table is a breakdown of all 160 players currently committed in our final 2020 rankings update by school. Salisbury University on the eastern shore of Maryland leads the way with 9 commits inside our Top 275 in the class of 2020. Far out in the western part of the state, Frostburg State University totaled 6 Maryland/Delaware commits. Also totaling 6 commits from our Final Class of 2020 Rankings update is Wilson College in Pennsylvania.
