Group Hopeful Of Bringing Baseball Back To Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN - There has been mostly negative news when it comes to baseball over the past few months.

No high school season.

A college campaign cut just one month into the year.

Major League baseball on hold.

The cancellation of many summer leagues.

And of course, the elimination of two college programs - Bowling Green and Furman.

But finally, there is the potential of some good news … and at this time potential is better than nothing.

A group of alumni at Bowling Green, many former players, has been working diligently to bring  back the program. “Save BGSU Baseball” initially started with a five-year commitment of $1.5 million to help resurrect the program, but in working with the college, that has been changed to a three-year commitment of $500,000 per year.

The next step is for families, BGSU alumni and other supporters to recommit their money support for the first year and total over a three-year period.

Anyone can email commitments and/or any questions to [email protected].
