Ahmad Goldson
of Menchville and Trey Morgan of Hampton would exchange zero's almost all night, but it would be Morgan that would come out on top of this pitcher's duel giving Hampton the win by a score of 2-1.

The hits came early for Menchville, by way of back to back singles by Dawson Guzik and Kade Abrisz. Morgan almost worked around the two singles, but a mishandled ball on the first-base line would give Menchville the lead at 1-0.

In the bottom of the 2nd with one out Charles Vassar would hit a solo home run out of left center that would knot things up and they would stay that way until the bottom of the 6th.

In the bottom of the 6th, after a leadoff single by senior shortstop Keyshawn Johnson, the Crabbers would take advantage of back to back walks to load the bases with one out for Hampton. With two strikes Brendan McBride would hit a groundball to the first baseman, but the throw would pull Abrisz off of the plate and allow what was the winning run to score. Two pitches later Goldson got a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning and any more damage.

In the top of the 7th Morgan would come back out to face Austin Maxey, but would give up a leadoff single and that would be it for Morgan. Bryan McBride came on in relief for Hampton to try and convert the save. McBride would get an out on a sac bunt and two groundballs to the left side would finish this one off with Hampton winning by a score of 2-1. The Crabbers remain unbeaten at 11-0.

Hampton pitcher and VMI commit Morgan threw six innings, scattered six hits, allowed one earned run, and struck out nine on the evening.

Vassar was 1-for-2 for Hampton with a HR.

Johnson was also 1-for-2 and scored the game winning run.

Menchville's Goldson threw six innings, only allowed three hits, and gave up two earned runs while striking out three.

Guzik and Kade Abrisz both had one hit a piece for Menchville on the day.
