Indiana Player of the Week : Honorable Mentions for Week #5

The week five player of the week honor goes to Eli Shaw (Warren Central HS). The Indiana recruit picked up 2 wins on the mound for the Warriors with 23 strikeouts and 0 ER in 11 innings pitched. The senior RHP also was 6 for 10 at the plate with 5 RBI.

Chase Bays, INF, 2024, Mishawaka Marian HS

Bays hit .556 with 2 2B, 4 RBI, and 6 R scored helping Marian to 2 wins throughout the week. 

 

 

Cameron Brown, RHP, 2023, Beech Grove HS

Brown tossed a complete game shutout in a win over Cascade HS, striking out 10 while allowing just 2 hits.

Jack Grunkemeyer, RHP/1B, 2024, Batesville HS

 Grunkemeyer threw a CG in his start this week, striking out 11 and allowing just 1 ER. He was also 7 for 11 (.636) at the plate with 3 2B with 7 RBI.

 

 

 

Hunter Snyder, SS, 2023, Lake Central HS

 Snyder went 9 for 15 (.600) at the dish with 4 doubles, 7 RBI, and 8 runs scored, helping Lake Central to a 4-1 week. 

 

 

Drew Helton, RHP/INF, 2024, Whiteland HS

Drew makes this list for a second consecutive week, this week earning a complete game win on the mound while also going 6 for 12 (.500) with 7 RBI and 5 runs scored.

 

 

Donnie Wiley, RHP/1B, 2023, DeKalb HS

Another repeat performer that made this list early in the season, Wiley threw a complete game, one-hitter with 9 strikeouts in a win against East Noble. Donnie also provided some impact on the offensive side of the ball, picking up 3 hits including 2 doubles.

Christian Pownall, LHP, 2023, Western HS

Pownall had a dominant performance on the mound this week, striking out 18 batters in a complete game shutout. The Ohio State recruit also added a home run and 4 RBI on the offensive side of the ball. 

Mitchell Dean, LHP/1B, 2023, Western HS

Dean makes this list yet again after another outstanding week. The Louisville recruit picked up a complete game win, striking out 16 without allowing a run. He also went 4 for 8 (.500) at the plate including a double, grand slam, and 7 RBI. 

 

 

Alec Hershberger, LHP, 2023, Fairfield HS

Another impressive week for Alec, this week throwing 13 ⅔ IP, striking out 21 batters and allowing just 1 walk while picking up a win. 

 

 

 

Aidan Holtzapple, 1B/DH, 2024, Brebeuf Jesuit HS

The big left-handed hitter went 7 for 9 (.778) with 4 2B and 3 HR on the week, driving in 12 runs.

 

 

Jordan DeAtley, RHP/INF, 2023, Southwestern (Hanover) HS

The Franklin College recruit picked up a win and a save on the mound, throwing 6 innings while only allowing 2 hits, 0 walks, and striking out 14. DeAtley also went 9 for 16 (.562) with 2 2B and 2 HR in 5 games this week.

 

Beau Patterson, 1B/RHP, 2024, Northwood HS

Patterson had a big week at the dish, going 10 for 19 (.526) with 3 2B and 6 RBI. He also worked 2 scoreless innings on the mound, striking out 4. 

 

 

Landon Rogers, 3B/RHP, 2023, Blackford HS

In four games, Rogers went 9 for 15 (.600) with 2 doubles and 2 HR. He also scored 9 runs and picked up 9 RBI on the week.

Issac Pierson, RHP, 2024, Tri-West HS

Pierson had another great week on the mound for Tri-West, allowing just 2 hits in a shutout win, striking out 10. 

Noah Dasgupta, LHP, 2026, Cascade HS

Another player that makes this list for the second consecutive week, Dasgupta threw a complete game gem against Beech Grove, allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk while picking up the win. Noah also added 5 hits on the week (.556) including a double, triple, and 8 RBI. 

 

Peyton James, RHP/UTL, 2023, Blackford HS

James went 8 for 10 ( .800) at the plate, hitting 4 doubles, driving in 9, and scoring 8 runs. He also threw 4 IP on the mound, striking out 9. 

Gavin Kuzniewski, RHP, 2024, Fishers HS

The Ohio State recruit picked up a win in a 1-hit, complete game shutout performance against rival HSE, striking out 10. Kuzniewski also added 2 doubles and a home run at the dish.

 

Bryce Haney, LHP, 2025, Triton Central HS

Haney had a phenomenal performance against Scecina, striking out 14 in a complete game win, allowing just 1 H, 2 BB, and 0 ER. 

Tommy Harringer, RHP, 2024, Mishawaka HS

Harringer earned the win in a pitcher’s duel against Northridge, striking out 10 in 6 ⅔ IP without allowing a run. 

 

 

Aaron Nehls, OF, 2023, Evansville North HS

Nehls had a big week at the plate for the Huskies, going 10 for 15 (.667) with 2 2B, a 3B, a HR, while scoring 9 runs, picking up 9 RBI, and stealing 4 bases. 

 

 

 

Jake Hooker, RHP/SS, 2023, University HS

The Xavier recruit threw 4 IP with 10 K’s in his outing on the mound, while also adding 2 home runs at the dish.

 

 

Max Clark, OF, 2023, Franklin Community HS

Clark continues to put up video game type numbers in his senior campaign, going 6 for 8 (.750) on the week with 3 home runs, a 3B, and 8 RBI. 

 

 

Bradyn Douglas, OF, 2023, Frankton HS

Douglas batted .500 on the week (9 for 18), picking up a double and 3 triples while scoring 9 runs and driving in 5. 

 

 

 

Dallas Ryans, INF, 2023, New Prairie HS

Ryans went 8 for 12 (.667) on the week, including picking up 7 hits in 7 consecutive at-bats throughout a 3-game span. 

Aiden Smith, RHP/OF, 2026, Shelbyville HS

Smith earned a complete game win against conference foe Delta, striking out 6 in 7 innings of work. He also went 8 for 15 (.533) with 3 RBI and 6 runs scored throughout the week. 

 

Garrett Schmidt, UTL/RHP, 2025, Borden HS

Schmidt made a big impact for Borden this week, going 8 for 13 (.615) with 2 doubles, 2 triples, and 10 RBI. The sophomore utility player also worked 5 ⅓ IP in two relief appearances, allowing just 2 H and 0 ER, while striking out 6. 

Micah Rienstra-Kiracofe, OF/RHP, 2024, North Central HS

Micah had another strong week at the dish, clubbing 3 home runs in four games while scoring 6 runs and picking up 8 RBI.

 

 

Stryker Swenson, OF, 2024, North Central HS

Swenson provided power to the North Central lineup this week, hitting a double and 2 home runs while driving in 7 runs in four games.
