Humfleet and Aul lead Pendleton Heights

Jordan Humfleet (2012, Unviersity of Dayton commit) was on his game on Friday night for Pendleton Heights, limiting a good Greenfield-Central offense to just one run. Humfleet allowed a homerun in the first inning and after that scattered six more hits throughout the game. Every time Pendleton would look to put pressure on Humfleet he would respond with a strike out or ground ball to get out of the potential damage. He sat in the mid-80s all night with his fastball and kept hitters off balance mixing in his off speed pitches, finishing with ten strikeouts.

Pendleton took advantage of a few key errors by Greenfield. In the first they got on the board after an error allowed a run to come across the plate. After another error in the second Brandon Hart (2012) drove in a run with a single. Skyler Reis (2012) drove in another run in the third with a two out single that scored Trevor Jennings (2012) putting Pendleton up 3-1 after three innings.

Parker Aul (2012) added four insurance runs, two in the fourth and two in the sixth. In the fourth he singled to right scoring Brandon Schnepp (2012) and Hart. In the sixth he doubled to shallow center scoring Hart again and also bringing around Brogan Gary (2013).

Greenfield-Central saw good games from Clark Pence (2012, Morehead State commit) who went 1-2 with a homerun in the first and Curtiss Irving. Irving started on the mound and sat 85-86. He went five innings allowing five runs, only three earned. At the plate he was 3-4 with a double.

Final: Pendleton Heights 7 Greenfield-Central 1

Game 2:

Clark Pence got the win on the mound throwing five innings, allowing four hits, one earned run, and striking out five. Pence was also 2-2 at the plate with a double and a RBI. Hayden Kisse tripled and drove in the other three runs for Greenfield-Central. Chris Kersey and Cam Gruell both were 2-3 with a run scored. Parker Aul and Hunter Clark both drove in a run for Pendleton Heights.

Final: Greenfield-Central 4 Pendleton Heights 2
