Much like the 2018s and 2019s, there was not a ton of movement at the top of the rankings. The fall is just not that heavy of a season to see that big jump or new prospects bursting onto the scene, along with the fact that high school fall sports are starting up...

THE COLLEGE CALENDAR: PART I - SUMMER & FALL

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

The jump from one level to the next can always be daunting.  Think back to playing at the 11-12 year old level and the jump to the “Big Field”.  Think back to just a couple of years ago and realize how much faster the game has become at the current level.  These jumps will continue to happen – entering college, at each level of the minors, and peaking at the Major League level.

In The Weeds: 2019 MIDDLE INFIELDERS

Shooter Hunt
National Crosschecker

Headed into the winter off-season, but with the spring just around the corner, In the Weeds will be highlighting some uncommitted, undervalued players in the 2019 class in coming installments. The most common questions posed to the PBR staff, now that signing day has passed, is “what good 2019 players do you know about?” With a different theme/position being covered each week, recruiters will want to get their notebooks out, and start writing down the names of players who could provide some help to their programs in the future. This week, eight middle infielders are highlighted as potential contributors at some level in college.

Who are the top college hitters in the Midwest this year? And who is a potential sleeper?
A bit on the lean side for college hitters in the Midwest this year, but leading the way is a real good one in SS Jeremy Eierman (Missouri State). He is an athletic, five-tool shortstop who can play the game. Many scouts think he will need to move to third base in pro ball; others think he can remain at shortstop. I’m a believer in the latter. Look for him to be selected towards the top of the first round this June. Other top Midwest hitter prospects include:...

2019 RIGHT-HANDED PITCHERS

Shooter Hunt
National Crosschecker

Although the recruiting process has sped up at an incredible (and sometimes absurd) pace, college coaches are constantly on the lookout for players to bolster their recruiting class right up until signing day senior year. This week, On the Hunt takes a look at six highly impressive right-handed pitchers from around the country who will have coaches following them throughout the spring and summer. Equipped with projectable frames, strong arms, and polished deliveries, each player may have a chance to become a starter at the next level. Included are pitchers from Illinois, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.
