The IHSA class 3A and 4A Regional quarterfinals games are completed while class 1A and 2A playoffs started last week where Regional champions have been decided.

Earlier this month, when the seedings were initially released, we broke down and analyzed each Sectional in detail with teams' current rankings in the Power 25 at the time. Click Here for a complete look at each Sectional.

As this year's 3A and 4A state tournaments ramp up, we take a look at how the state could potentially play out. We skipped Regionals and went straight to picking the Sectional final matchups.

Due to the seeding format being based geographically, there are a number of loaded Sectionals. In class 4A, the Lockport Sectional features four teams currently ranked in the top 15 of the Power 25 and a number of other teams that were ranked at some point throughout the year. The No. 1 seed in the Sectional is Lincoln-Way East, currently ranked No. 8 in the Power 25. The Sectional also features Sandburg (No. 4), Andrew (No. 6), and Marist (No. 13). Providence Catholic and Lockport were ranked at various times in the season and will be tough outs. Other sleeper teams in the Sectional are Lincoln-Way Central, Homewood-Flossmoor, and Marian Catholic.

Other tough Sectionals to keep an eye on are Hinsdale South's and St. Laurence's. Hinsdale South's features Neuqua Valley (No. 2), Plainfield North (No. 9), and Plainfield East (No. 16). A few sleepers to keep an eye on in the Sectional are Naperville Central and the other two Plainfield schools, Central and South, who both won 20-plus games this spring. The St. Laurence Sectional features hosts St. Laurence (No. 5), Mount Carmel (No. 7), Lyons Township (No. 11), and Brother Rice (No. 18). The Sectional also features St. Rita who spent a lot of time this spring in the Power 25 and Riverside-Brookfield who is currently listed On The Bubble.

CLASS 3A

In class 3A, the Decatur MacArthur Sectional looks to be the toughest on paper. It includes Power 25 Glenwood (No. 19) and a number of others who have spent a lot of time on the bubble throughout the spring: Rochester (23-6), Effingham (23-5), and Mt. Zion (24-4). Some other teams to look out for in the Sectional are Champaign Central, Sacred Heart-Griffin (22-11), and Mattoon (22-8).
