The IHSA class 3A and 4A Regional Championship games are completed while class 1A and 2A state finals start this Friday at Dozer Field in Peoria.

As this year's 3A and 4A state tournaments ramp up, we take a look at how the state could potentially play out. We made it a little easier on ourselves, by skipping last week's Regionals and went straight to picking the Sectional final matchups.

My pick for the State Championship game, is St. Rita vs Edwardsville. They have been the top two teams in the state for much of the spring and have two of the more complete lineups and teams in the state. Given the high-end arms that Edwardsville has at their disposal, I am picking them to come away with the Championship trophy.

CLASS 3A

In class 3A, St. Laurence, currently 31-5, is my pick to win the state title. It is St. Laurence's first season in Class 3A and they are two-years removed from a 4A state finals appearance. For St. Laurence to make it to state they'll have to get by a number of Power 25 teams, including a potential matchup with No. 4 Joliet Catholic in the Sectional Finals.
