ST. PETERSBURG – Indian Rocks Christian took down St. Petersburg Catholic 3-0 in a game that was mostly decided by pitching and defense. Indian Rocks was led by 2017 RHP Oakley Albinson who was able to throw a complete shutout with ten strikeouts and only three hits allowed. Offensively, 2015 UTL George Koulianos had an RBI triple and 2015 C and Indian River State commit Dan Oberst was 3-3 with an RBI.

Indian Rocks was able to score early with Koulianos’s triple that was driven to left center. After the first, the game remained 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth when Indian Rocks was able to add two more runs to give Albinson some cushion. One of these runs came off a two out single by Oberst and the other run came off a two out error.

Albinson was able to cruise through the sixth and strand two runners in the seventh to complete the shutout and give Indian Rocks their district championship bid where they will play Calvary Christian.
