2A Sectional Roundup

 

Sectional 33 – Champion: Bishop Noll

Bishop Noll 16 River Forest 0 – Ryan Bradtke threw five shutout innings allowing one hit and struck out eight. Bradtke was 3-3 with two doubles, four RBI, and two runs, Williams Peters was 3-5 with three RBI, Dominic Companiott was 2-4 with two RBI and two runs, and Jake Fuehrmeyer was 2-3 with two RBI and three runs. 

Gary Roosevelt 10 Lake Station 6 

Bishop Noll 19 Gary Roosevelt 4 – Devin Padilla had a double, four RBI, and two runs, Hunter Laurincik was 1-1 with two RBI, and Ryan Kielbania was 1-3 with a RBI and two runs. Antonio Descrescenzo threw four innings allowing three hits, no earned runs, and struck out eight. 

Whiting 15 Bowman Academy 2 

Bishop Noll 3 Whiting 2 – Ryan Bradtke threw a complete game allowing two runs, five hits, and struck out seven.t Devin Padilla singled and drove in two and Ryan Kielbania singled and drove in a run.

 

Sectional 34 – Champion: Boone Grove

Hebron 5 Winamac 1 – Travis Patrick struck out 16 in a complete game allowing one run on three hits. Austin Chas was 2-4 with two RBI, Brenden Vaupel was 2-4 with a RBI, and Michael Briggs was 2-4 with two runs. 

Rensselaer Central 10 North Judson 5 – Aidan Stevens went 2-4 with a double, homeruns, three RBI, and three runs, Preston Shuey was 3-4 with two RBI, and Mat McGowan went 2-4 with a RBI and a run. Eli Hickman threw five innings allowing two runs, two hits, and struck out six. 

Hebron 11 Rensselaer Central 4 – Peyton Doelling went 3-3 with a RBI and two runs, Logan Ryan was 3-4 with a RBI and two runs, Sylas Roberts went 2-5 with a triple, three RBI, and two runs, and Cade Woodward had a double, two RBI, and a run. Ryan struck out 13 in 6.2 innings allowing two runs on five hits. 

Boone Grove 8 North Newton 5 

Boone Grove 7 Hebron 0 – Ty Bothwell threw a no hitter and struck out 17 of the 26 batters he faced. Charlie Hoskins went 2-4 with a double, grand slam, and five RBI and Bothwell was 3-4 with a RBI

 

Sectional 35 – Champion: Eastside

Prairie Heights 4 Bremen 2 – Zach Smith threw six innings allowing one earned run, six hits, and struck out seven. Louie Fraley was 2-4 with two RBI and a run, Blake Hoyer was 2-3, and Kody Gaul was 1-2 with two RBI. 

Eastside 14 Central Noble 7 – Keegan Miller went 3-4 with a double, three RBI, and a run, Maguire Jacobs was 3-5 with a RBI and two runs, Joe White was 2-2 with two RBI and a run, Wade Miller was 2-4 with a RBI and a run, and Caleb Ballentine was 3-5 with two runs. 

Eastside 5 Prairie Heights 4 – Wade Miller went 3-4 with a homerun and two RBI, Maguire Jacobs was 3-3 with a double and a run, Joe White was 2-3 with a RBI, and Caleb Ballentine singled and scored twice. Chase Franz got the win in relief throwing two shutout innings allowing one hit and struck out six. 

Westview 7 LaVille 4 – Jansen Brandenberger doubled twice and scored, Nick Rensberger was 2-3 with a homerun and two RBI, Matt Jones was 2-4 with two RBI and a run, and Kurtis Davis was 2-3 with a double and two runs. Hunter Schumacher threw five innings allowing three earned runs and struck out two. 

Eastside 9 Westview 6 F/9 – Maguire Jacobs went 3-5 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Keegan Miller went 3-4 with a double and two RBI, and Caleb Ballentine had a single, RBI, and a run. Chase Franz threw four shutout innings in relief to get the win allowing three hits and struck out three.

 

Sectional 36 – Champion: South Adams

FW Canterbury 7 Woodlan 5 – Khem Thomas went 3-4 with a RBI and two runs, Carter Graefnitz was 1-2 with a double, two RBI, and a run, and Nick Gonzales singled and drove in three runs. Ben Axel threw six innings allowing three hits, no earned runs, and struck out seven. 

South Adams 7 Adams Central 1 – Grant Besser threw all six innings allowing three hits, no earned runs, and struck out 11. Joe Stuber was 2-3 with a double, homerun, two RBI, and two runs, Keagan Yoder was 1-2 with a double, RBI, and a run, and Nic Stuber and Isaiah Baumgartner each singled and scored. 

South Adams 9 FW Canterbury 4 – Collin Shaffer homered and drove in five, Joe Stuber went 2-2 with a RBI and two runs, Grant Besser was 2-3 with a double and two runs, and Nic Stuber was 2-3 with two runs. Shaffer threw four innings allowing five hits, no earned runs, and struck out four. 

Bluffton 6 Churubusco 4 F/9 – Gavin King got the win in relief throwing 3.2 hitless, shutout innings while striking out eight. Kolton Moore hit a solo homerun, Eli Inskeep singled and scored twice, and Everett Johnson singled and drove in a run. 

South Adams 7 Bluffton 3 – Grant Besser went 3-4 with a triple, RBI, and three runs, Joe Stuber was 2-4 with three RBI, and a run, James Arnold was 1-2 with a RBI and a run, and Isaiah Baumgartner was 1-2 with two RBI. Besser threw six innings allowing seven hits, no earned runs, and struck out eight.

 

Sectional 37 – Champion: Wabash

Cass 4 Oak Hill 3 

Wabash 10 Whitko 0 – Trenton Daughtry threw 4.1 shutout innings allowing four hits and struck out three. Robert Irgang was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs, Daughtry was 2-4 with a triple, RBI, and two runs, and Kory Fuller was 1-1 with two RBI and two runs. 

Cass 4 Wabash 3 

Manchester 2 Rochester 1 – Grant Strobel threw six innings allowing three hits, no earned runs, and struck out six. Hayes Sturtsman struck out two in one shutout inning to get the win. Jeremiah Airgood had a triple, RBI, and a run, Kyle Shepherd had a RBI, and Sturtsman was 2-3 with a run. 

Cass 5 Manchester 0 – Rodabaugh threw a two hit complete game shutout, striking out eight. Zeck went 2-4 with a RBI and a run, Humphrey had a double, two RBI, and a run, and Eurit was 2-3 with a run.

 

Sectional 38 – Champion: Lafayette Central Catholic

Lafayette Central Catholic 8 Seeger 1 – Jacob Marin threw four shutout innings allowing two hits and struck out four. Carson Barrett was 2-3 with two RBI and a run, Ben Berenda was 2-3 with a double and a RBI, and Scott Lovell was 2-5 with a RBI and two runs. 

Western Boone 10 Delphi 1 – Martinez went 3-3 with two doubles, three RBI, and three runs, Bromberek was 2-3 with a double, RBI, and two runs, and Popplewell was 2-3 with a RBI. Young threw six innings allowing five hits, no earned runs, and struck out five. 

Lafayette Central Catholic 3 Western Boone 0 – Jacob Marin threw a complete game shutout allowing four hits and struck out six. Jack Hudson singled and drove in two, Adam Dienhart doubled and scored, and Scott Lovell was 2-3 with a run. 

Carroll 2 Clinton Prairie 1 

Lafayette Central Catholic 7 Carroll 1 – Kyle Onken threw five innings allowing three hits and no earned runs. Karson Kyhnell went 2-3 with a RBI and a run, Daniel Roach was 2-2 with a RBI, AJ Bordenet was 1-1 with two runs, and Scott Lovell was 1-2 with a RBI and two runs.

 

Sectional 39 – Champion: Alexandria

Tipton 11 Madison-Grant 2 – Roudebush went 3-5 with three RBI and three runs, Edmonds homered and drove in two, and Dolezal was 3-4 with two doubles, a RBI, and two runs. Dolezal struck out 10 in six innings allowing one earned run on two hits. 

Elwood 9 Eastbrook 0 – Jack Bennett struck out 11 in six shutout innings, allowing just one hit. Jordan Garcia went 3-4 with two doubles, a triple, two RBI, and three runs, Bennett was 2-4 with four RBI, and Cameron Smith had a double, two RBI, and a run. 

Alexandria 6 Taylor 0 – Matthew Etherington threw six shutout innings allowing four hits and struck out 10. Dalton Andrew doubled and drove in two, Rylan Metz and Trey Stokes each went 2-4, and Cade Vernetti was 1-1 with a RBI. 

Tipton 6 Eastern 3 

Alexandria 3 Elwood 2 F/10 – Trey Stokes got the win in relief throwing 3.1 shutout innings allowing just one hit. Matthew Etherington and Rylan Metz each had two hits, Cade Vernetti and Jarrett Small each singled and scored, and Brennan Morehead singled and drove in a run. 

Alexandria 5 Tipton 4 – Jarrett Small went 3-4 with two runs, Matthew Etheringont was 2-3 with a double and a RBI, Nick Williams was 2-3 with a RBI, and Brennan Morehead was 1-2 with a RBI. Etherington threw a complete game allowing four runs, six hits, and struck out six.

 

Sectional 40 – Champion: Frankton

Shenandoah 14 Monroe Central 3 – Gabe Young went 4-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and three runs, Coleson White was 3-4 with two doubles and three RBI, and Landon Freestone was 2-3 with three RBI and two runs. Gavin Patrick threw four innings allowing one hit, no earned runs, and struck out seven. 

Frankton 18 Muncie Burris 0 – Travis McGuire threw a five inning no hitter, striking out four. Noah VanSlyke was 3-4 with a triple, two RBI, and three runs, McGuire was 3-4 with a RBI, Evan Doan was 3-3 with a triple, two RBI, and two runs, and Will Harris was 2-3 with two RBI and three runs. 

Frankton 4 Shenandoah 3 – Landon Weins went 2-3 with a triple, solo homerun, and two runs, Curtis DeLong was 2-3 with a homerun and two RBI, and Will Harris was 2-3 with a double and a RBI. Evan Doan got the win in relief throwing 2.1 innings allowing one run and no hits. 

Lapel 3 Wapahani 1 – Cameron Holycross struck out 12 in a complete game win, allowing three hits and no earned runs. Holycross singled and drove in two, Satchell Wilson doubled and scored, and Levi Frazier single and scored. 

Frankton 4 Lapel 2 – Landon Weins struck out 11 in six innings allowing one earned run and four hits. Evan Doan went 2-3 with a double and a run, Weins and Will Harris each singled and drove in a run, Caleb Delong was 1-2 with a run.

 

Sectional 41 – Champion: Union County

Hagerstown 20 Cambridge City 0 – Cameron Purtha was 3-5 with a triple, six RBI, and a run, Trent Weiss went 2-4 with two RBI and three runs, Cody Swimm was 2-2 with two RBI and two runs, and Drew Pyle was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and three runs. 

Centerville 14 Northeastern 2 – Chris Pritchett was 3-5 with a double, three RBI, and a run, Michael Brewer was 2-4 with three runs, and Dalton Stevens had a double, RBI, and a run. Nolan Witt threw a complete game allowing five hits, no earned runs, and struck out seven. 

Hagerstown 13 Centerville 6 – Trent Weiss went 3-4 with three RBI and two runs, Mason Hicks was 2-5 with two doubles and two runs, and Drew Pyle was 2-4 with a double, three RBI, and a run. Brady McMillan threw 3.2 innings allowing four hits, no earned runs, and struck out two. 

Union County 13 Winchester 1 – Mason Miller went 4-5 with two doubles, four RBI, and two runs, Preston Scott was 4-5 with a double, two RBI, and three runs, and Cameron Donovan singled and drove in three. Joey Weller threw four innings allowing two hits, no earned runs, and struck out seven. 

Union County 6 Hagerstown 1 – Joey Weller threw a no hitter, not allowing an earned run and struck out seven. Preston Scott went 2-4 with two RBI and a run, Justin Witter was 2-3 with a RBI, Zander Kottka had a double, two RBI, and a run, and Weller had a single, RBI, and a run.

 

Sectional 42 – Champion: Scecina

Eastern Hancock 14 Triton Central 8 – Addison True was 3-3 with a double, homerun, six RBI, and two runs, Easton Fields was 3-4 with a homerun, four RBI, an two runs, and AJ Muegge was 1-2 with four runs. Joey Sterrett threw four shutout innings, not allowing a hit and struck out eight. 

Heritage Christian 21 Irvington Prep 1 – Seth Ambrose was 2-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs, Quinn Cobb was 2-3 with a double, three RBI, and three runs, Dalton Turner was 2-2 with a double, RBI, and three runs, and Jadon Ambrose was 2-2 with a double, two RBI, and two runs. 

Heritage Christian 10 Eastern Hancock 0 – Stephen DeWitt struck out 12 in 5.1 shutout innings allowing just one hit. Thomas Johnson went 3-3 with two RBI and a run, Joe Butz was 3-3 with a RBI and a run, and Joel Mounts had a triple, two RBI, and a run. 

Scecina 7 Knightstown 4 – Drew Lowery went 2-3 with a double, RBI, and two runs, Anthony Mitchell was 2-3 with a RBI and two runs, Mac Ayres was 1-2 with two RBI, and Eli Phillips had a double, RBI, and a run. Mitchell got the win in relief throwing 2.1 hitless, shutout innings while striking out five. 

Scecina 4 Heritage Christian 2 – Mac Ayres went 3-3 with a run, Reeves homered and drove in three, and Eli Phillips singled and drove in a run. Anthony Mitchell struck out nine in 5.1 innings allowing five hits and no earned runs.

 

Sectional 43 – Champion: Covenant Christian

Shortridge 13 Indy Washington 0 – Jacob Poore went 3-5 with three RBI and three runs, Walker Perkins was 2-5 with a double, two RBI, ad a run, and Cole McElroy had a single, RBI, and two runs. McElroy struck out 13 in a one hit complete game shutout. 

Cascade 7 Speedway 2 – Cameron Ginter struck out seven in five innings allowing two runs on five hits. AJ Sanders went 3-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and a run, Ross Stephenson was 1-1 with a run, and Connor Horning had a RBI and a run. 

Cascade 19 Shortridge 4 – Dylan Kottkamp went 4-4 with a triple, five RBI, and four runs, Connor Horning was 2-5 with a double, homerun, and three RBI, AJ Sanders was 3-3 with a RBI and two runs, Ross Stephenson was 2-2 with a double, three RBI, and two runs, and Bryson Phillips singled and scored four times. 

Covenant Christian 5 Park Tudor 4 

Covenant Christian 14 Cascade 8 – Darian Pugh went 4-6 with two RBI and three runs, Isaac Huff was 2-5 with three RBI and a run, Jackson Prather was 2-5 with a RBI and two runs, and Conner Krizan had a double, two RBI, and a run.

South Vermillion 3 South Putnam 1 – Cooper Terry threw five innings allowing one run on two hits, striking out four. Terry had two RBI, Bryce McLeish singled and drove in a run, Connor VanLannen doubled and scored, and Hayden Boatman was 1-2 with a run. 

Monrovia 9 North Putnam 2 – Patrick Danforth was 2-3 with a homerun and three RBI, Cooper Noel was 2-4 with a double and a run, and Nick Caplinger singled and drove in two runs. Caplinger struck out nine in 6.2 innings allowing two runs on four hits. 

South Vermillion 8 Monrovia 6 – Bryce McLeish went 3-3 with two RBI and two runs, Matthew Panagouleas had a double, RBI, and a run, Caleb Panagouleas singled and drove in three, and Hayden Boatman was 2-3 with two runs. Connor VanLannen threw three innings allowing two runs on four hits.

Evansville Mater Dei 10 Perry Central 0 – Austin Wulff threw all five innings allowing six hits and struck out two. Hunter Taylor went 3-3 with a double, RBI, and a run, Sam Hagerty was 2-4 with two RBI, Adam Wildeman was 2-3 with a double and two RBI, and Dawson Caswell was 2-4 with a double and two runs. 

North Posey 11 Forest Park 3 – Jarrett Motz went 3-5 with three RBI and two runs, Kyle Lavanchy was 2-3 with a RBI and two runs, and Shane Harris was 2-3 with two RBI. Harris threw two shutout innings allowing one hit and struck out four. 

North Posey 8 Evansville Mater Dei 2 – Brandon Hamman was 3-4 with a double and two RBI, Kyle Lavanchy was 3-3 with two runs, and Corey Heath was 2-4 with three RBI. Shane Harris got the win throwing six innings allowing two runs on three hits, striking out seven. 

South Spencer 10 Tell City 9 F/12 – Dalton Bartlett was 2-6 with a double, three RBI, and brought in the winning run, Manning Webb was 4-7 with a double and a run, and Cole Dawson was 2-5 with two RBI. Darian Johnson got the win in relief throwing three innings not allowing a hit and struck out two. 

North Posey 3 South Spencer 1 – Shane Harris struck out 12 in a complete game win allowing one run and three hits. Camden Bender was 2-3 with two runs, Brandon Hamman doubled and drove in two, and Harris singled and drove in a run.
