4A Top 25

No. 5 Zionsville 4 Lafayette Jefferson 3 – Jack Pilcher threw two innings, striking out five of six batters he faced. Jordan Cox struck out all three batters he faced and James Meyer struck out two in one inning. Nick Prather was 1-3 with a RBI and a run, Jacob Hurtubise was 1-1 with a run, Cox had a RBI, and Nolan Elsbury wads 1-3 with a run. 

No. 7 Carmel 1 Brebeuf 0 – Ben Clevenger threw 5.1 shutout innings to get the win allowing just two hits and striking out four. George Shebek picked up the save throwing the final 1.2 innings. Jack Van Remortal drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 7th to give Carmel the win. Parker Massman was 1-3 with the lone run scored. Will Wentz threw for Brebeuf allowing just one hit and one run in six plus innings of work. 

No. 9 Roncalli 10 Lawrence Central 0 – Nick Schnell went 2-3 with a homerun, two RBI, and three runs to lead the offense. Cody Smith was 1-2 with a RBI, Hayden Harper was 2-2 with two runs, Blake Chitwood had two RBI, and Robbie Strader was 1-4 with a RBI. Michael McAvene got the win throwing three innings allowing one hit and striking out five. 

No. 10 Noblesville 7 New Castle 0 – Cory Conway struck out nine in five innings of shutout work, allowing just three hits. Bryce Masterson homered and drove in three, Connor Christman was 1-2 with a double and two runs, and Austin Shirley was 1-4 with two RBI. 

No. 12 Fishers 6 Kokomo 0 – Andy Bennett and Craig Yoho led the offense in the win. Bennett went 3-4 with a double, three RBI, and a run and Yoho was 3-4 with a double and two RBI. Tyler Soper went 1-3 with two runs scored.  Elliot Gilmore struck out three in one inning of work, Cameron Boyd and Luke Duermit each threw two innings allowing one hit and struck out three, and Ryan Metz struck out two in two innings of work.

No. 24 New Albany 11 Wilson Central (TN) 0 – Austin Dickey picked up the win throwing four innings allowing one hit and striking out six.

3A Top 10

No. 8 Silver Creek 2 Trinity (KY) 1 – Logan Murphy threw the final four innings to pick up the win allowing two hits and striking out two. Cody Razer and Tyler Kapust both doubled and drove in a run.

2A/1A Top 10

No. 1 Lafayette Central Catholic 3 North Montgomery 2 F/10 – Adam Lovell drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning. Ben Tharp picked up the win throwing the final three innings allowing just one hit. Bradyn Bordenet hit a solo homerun and Tharp doubled and scored one run.

No. 3 Rockville 10 Southmont 0 – Dalton Laney threw all five innings to get the, win allowing just two hits. At the plate Laney was 3-4 with three RBI, Tyler Rapp was 3-4 with a double and two RBI, and Hunter James was 1-3 with two RBI.

More Highlights

Charlestown 4 Lanesville 0 – Kelly Rider got the opening day win throwing five shutout innings allowing one hit and striking out nine. Tanner Wesp led the offense going 3-3 with a double and three RBI. 

NorthWood 3 Westview 0 – Drew Minnich threw a complete game shutout allowing three hits and striking out six. Chad Sellers went 1-2 with two RBI and a run, Tanner Cleveland was 1-3 with a double and a RBI, and Jaron Mullet was 2-3 with a run. 

South Bend Adams 7 Lakeland 3 – A four run sixth inning put Adams in the lead for good. James Schell led the offense going 3-3 with two doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Josh Bendy was 1-4 with three RBI, Matt Foulks had a RBI and a run, and Nick Day was 1-2 with a run.
