Initial Class of 2015 Player Rankings Released

The initial Class of 2015 player rankings have been released and the prospects in this class appear to be headed for great things. Look for plenty of movement and addtions to the list as these players compete for their spot in the rankings over the coming years.

At the head of this class is Eli Nabholz (Pottsville). Nabholz is a 6-foot-5, 200-pound right handed pitcher who tops out at 85 mph. Nabholz' uncle Chris Nabholz pitched in the majors and his nephew has the frame and the makeup to do big things as well. Nabholz has solid mechanics and control of three pitches.

The second and third spots are filled by two infielders. The No. 2 ranked player in the class, Kyle Datres (Loyalsock Township) is coming off an impressive showing at the WWBA 16U National Championships. Datres had an outstanding tournament at the plate, but really turned heads when he touched 89 mph in a relief appearance on the mound.

The No. 3 ranked player is Greg Popatak (Sharpsville). Popatak hit .550 as a freshman and has plus power from the left side of the plate. The 6-foot-0, 190-pound shortstop projects as a corner infielder at the next level.
