Inside the 2022 Rankings: Plenty of high-end RHPs to Follow

Phil Wade
Indiana Executive Director

As we head into the summer season, there are plenty of right-handed arms with velocity and/or projectability in the Hoosier State for college coaches to add to their watch list. Here we look at ten uncommitted RHPs all ranked in Indiana's Top 30.

Aydan Decker-Petty, RHP, New Castle HS, IN
Petty has a projectable 6-foot-5, 170-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out. At this year's Indiana Preseason All-State Underclass event, the right-hander sat 86-89 with his fastball. He works predominantly out of the stretch with a medium, high-3/4 arm action and quick arm speed. He features two breaking balls in his arsenal: a 76-78 mph slider and 70-72 mph curveball. Currently, he has more feel for the curveball with tight spin and depth. He also showcased a 75-76 mph changeup with fade and occasional sink.

Decker-Petty (3.7.20)

Brady Ginaven, RHP, Munster HS

6-foot-5, 215-pound projectable frame. On the mound, throws from a ¾ arm angle and has quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Lands square. Had a live arm, producing a fastball that reached velocities of 87-88 mph and topped out at 88 mph; showed control and running action. His changeup (77-79) showed in the zone control and sinking action. He showed a 11/5 curveball (70-74) with some depth.

Ginaven (3.7.20)

Chate Amick, RHP, Jeffersonville HS

Athletic framed 6-foot-1, 180 pound right-hander sits 82-86 with the fastball. Quick arm out front, medium arm action, high 3/4 slot. Over the head pump delivery with some rhythm. In-line direction to the plate, land square. Breaking ball sat 70-74 flashing depth. Changeup was 78-80 with fade. Plenty of more velo in the tank.

Amick (7.31.19)

Brock Buckley, RHP, Covenant Christian HS

Long and lean at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds, there is still plenty of room for him to keep filling out. Buckley’s low intensity 85 mph in August at the PBR Future Games will quickly see an uptick. Polished delivery and clean arm stroke. There is some depth to the curveball, which has been up as high as 75 mph, and will likely get better as he throws it more in games. The continued development of the changeup (72-74), and even the knuckleball (65-66), will ultimately help decide his ceiling.

Buckley (7.31.19)

Jacob Wilson, RHP,  Center Grove HS
