West Virginia native Josh Kuykendall officially takes over the reigns as Prep Baseball Report's Director of Scouting for the state today.

Kuykendall's baseball roots run deep in the Mountain State. Following high school the Keyser native went on to tie the school record for wins at Potomac State (17) as a left-handed pitcher and was named Second Team All-Region 20 along the way. During his two years as a Catamount he helped set the school record for wins (41) and helped lead Potomac State to the JUCO World Series.

Kuykendall played his final two years of collegiate baseball at West Virginia State for legendary coach Cal Bailey. The lefty also had the chance to pitch in the historic Valley Baseball Summer League for the Waynesboro Generals (named the 4th ranked team in the country in 2006).

Most recently Kuykendall was the Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Potomac State for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Now Kuykendall will bring his baseball experiences and passions for scouting to West Virginia's prep baseball scene. Kuykendall will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information West Virginia has ever seen and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state. But he can't do it alone. Please email him at [email protected] with college commitments, relevant news, and top players in your area.

Kuykendall's first West Virginia specific event, the WV Fall College Prospect Showcase, will take place on November 18th at Pro Performance Rx in Morgantown. Prep Baseball Report events are designed to give players the maximum exposure needed to advance to the next level. Not only will players receive high-level exposure to college coaches, but all players at events will be videotaped, and the edited performance will be hosted online. All players' profiles, verified statistics and scouting reports can be searched in our expansive player database.

Our flagship state, Prep Baseball Report Illinois, was launched in 2005. Over the last 14 years, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country's biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive coverage in every state we are in.
