KS Uncommitted Spotlight: Trevor Brush

This Fall PBR will be highlighting some of the top uncommitted players in the 2023 and 2024 classes. Today we take an in-depth look at 2023 C Trevor Brush.  The Blue Valley HS backstop stands at an athletic 6-foot and 175-pounds offering more room for added strength in the future.  At the plate, Brush uses his smooth two-tap striding swing and level bat path to generate consistent line drive contact and does a really good job of utilizing the lower half to help match plane with the pitch.  Brush shows advanced arm strength reaching up to 78 mph from behind the crouch with pop times ranging between 1.91-2.01.  Brush also shows strong hip flexibility behind the plate and blocking skills making him a prime candidate to remain behind the dish at the next level.

Well-proportioned 6-foot, 175-pound frame with plenty of physical projection left to come; looks the part. Long flat path at the plate, pull-side approach. Quick release behind the plate with on-the-bag accuracy. Advanced runner for the position. Currently ranked inside the top-35 prospects on the Kansas’ 2023 board.

Positional Profile: C
Body: 5-foot-7, 120-pounds. Developing frame.
Defense: 2.26-2.37 pop times. Moderate arm stroke coming through a high-¾ slot.
Arm: C - 67 mph.  Short stroke coming through an over the top slot. 
Hit: Right-Handed. Narrow, upright stance. Toe tap load into a big stride. Launches hands on a slightly uphill path with some length.
Power: 70 mph exit velocity from the tee. Founds some barrels in BP.
Run: 4.65 runner home-to-first. 

Delivery: Lands open to target, upright finish, recoil.
Arm Action: Compact arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T72, 70-72 mph. Plays straight, pushes the baseball.
CB: 60-61 mph. Gradual action.
CH: 58-59 mph. Floats into the zone.
