The Kenosha Preseason ID kicked off our Preseason ID tour on January 28. We’ve started our coverage with some Quick Hits and a look at the Stats Posted. We have already rolled out the catching and outfield analysis and today we continue with the infielders.
Top Infield Prospects
1. Josh Leslie, SS, Westosha Central, 2018
5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop with a strong, athletic frame. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ slot. Fluid, athletic actions with a clean exchange and soft hands. Plays well on the run. Throws showed carry across the infield at 85 mph. At the plate hits from a balanced, slightly open setup with a smooth load. Short stride with good balance. Fluid rhythm with a short, level swing path. 82 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.44 runner down the line.
2. Austin Glidden, RHP/INF, Westosha Central, 2019
Wiry loose frame, 6-foot-1, 145-pound two-way player, projectable build. Projects best on the mound, tall and fall delivery, athletically smooth down the hill, works on line, squared landing, athletic finish. Showed poise and feel on the mound. Arm action is loose and quick, high ¾ slot, easy effort. Fastball played with lively arm side run, showed feel for the zone, 81-83 mph. Curveball has sharp 12/6 action, showed control in the zone, 68-69 mph. Good feel for changeup, fading action, thrown near fastball arm speed, 74-76 mph. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance, short stride, tall upright finish. Line drive contact with some opposite field tendency. 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played just as well as on the mound, 85 mph across the diamond. Good body control, athletic defender, soft hands. 4.50 runner down the line.
3. Nolan Kelliher, SS, Middleton, 2018
5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting shortstop with an athletic frame. Currently ranked No. 74 in Wisconsin. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ slot. Throws showed carry across the infield at 79 mph. Athletic defender with fluid footwork and a clean exchange. At the plate hits from a balanced, slightly open setup with a short stride and average balance. Gap to gap hitter with an uphill swing path. Needs more backside involvement in swing. Showed strength thru contact with 88 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.50 runner down the line.
4. Justin Paasch, SS, Wilmot, 2018
5-foot-10, 165-pound left-handed hitting shortstop. At the plate hits from an open setup with a wide base. Short leg kick stride, closes off on stride. Line drive hitter with fluid rhythm and a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 84 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.36 runner down the line. Defensively has loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. Fluid footwork with average hands. Threw 81 mph across the infield.
5. Reese Dutton, INF/RHP, Tremper, 2019
6-foot, 155-pound two-way player. Defensively arm played well across the diamond, over the top slot, 81 mph across the diamond. Actions are loose, clean through the baseball, showed playable hands. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride, slightly dives to pull contact. Short path, pull side contact, occasional uphill. Fastball topped at 78 mph, sat 76-77 mph, mostly straight. Curveball played with 12/6 shape at times, showed feel for the zone, 68-70 mph. Changeup has fastball arm speed, 72-73 mph.
6. Danny Osep, SS, Franklin, 2018
5-foot-11, 150-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. At the plate hits from a tall, open setup. Short, leg lift stride with average balance. Short, level swing path. 82 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.47 runner down the line. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ slot. Plays thru the ball with soft hands. Plays on the run well. Threw 80 mph across the infield.
7. Ryan Hughes, 2B, Beloit Turner, 2018
5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitting second baseman. At the plate hits from an open setup with a wide base. Leg kick stride with average balance. Pull hitter with a long swing path. 80 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.62 runner down the line. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ slot. Accurate throws across the infield at 82 mph.
8. Cody Horon, 3B/RHP, Union Grove, 2020
6-foot-1, 197-pound right-handed hitting 3B/RHP with a strong frame. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with a leg kick stride and good balance. Pull, power approach at the plate with an uphill swing path and fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 86 mph exit velocity from a tee. 5.00 runner down the line. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Plays thru the ball with a clean exchange and average hands. Throws showed carry across the infield at 80 mph. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with regular effort and some rhythm. Fastball has some tilt at 79 topping out at 80 mph. Curveball has 12-6 shape at 67-68 mph. Changeup has sinking action with fastball arm speed at 68-70 mph.
9. Tyler Swanson, SS, Burlington Central Catholic, 2020
5-foot-9, 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Offensively hits form a balanced setup with a wide base. Short heel lift stride with a short, uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 85 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.51 runner down the line. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ slot. Quick footwork with soft hands playing thru the ball. Plays well on the run. Threw 78 mph across the infield.
10. Jarrett Ramer, RHP/1B, Kenosha Bradford, 2019
5-foot-11, 155-pound two-way player, average frame and build. Showed advanced arm strength for his age. On the mound delivery works slightly across his body with occasional recoil finish on fastball. Works with some effort, arm is live, quick and loose, high ¾ slot. Fastball tops at 83 mph, sits 80-82 mph, mostly straight, four seam type. Curveball has 10/4 shape, showed feel, 68-71 mph. Straight changeup is firm with fastball arm speed, 77-79 mph. Arm also showed carry across the diamond at 81 mph. Showed natural footwork around the bag, athletic and plays through the ball. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance, heel lift trigger. Showed bat speed, uphill path, 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. 4.72 runner down the line.

Colin Conyers, 3B/OF, Indian Trail, 2019
6-foot-1, 167-pound right-handed hitting 3B/OF. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short leg kick stride. Long, uphill swing path. 75 mph exit velocity from a tee. 5.00 runner down the line. Defensively in the outfield has a short arm action from a high ¾ slot with a long exchange. Threw 69 mph from the outfield. In the infield has a short arm action, threw 65 mph across the diamond.
Jacob Danielsen, 2B/C, Stevens Point, 2017
5-foot-10, 155-pound catcher, wiry frame. Right-handed hitter, balanced setup with slightly open stance, short toe tap trigger, average balance through contact. Short uphill path, made opposite field contact on a line in BP. 74 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively worked out on the infield and at catcher. Projects best on the infield with some actions and the ability to play through the baseball, with playable hands. Arm action was loose, 73 mph across the diamond, 67 mph out of the crouch. Posted pop times at 2.47-2.58. 4.86 runner down the line.
Brady Fields, SS/RHP, Badger, 2018
Lanky, projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, right-handed hitting SS/RHP. At the plate hits from a balanced, slightly open setup with a short stride and average balance. Line drive hitter with an uphill swing path and fluid rhythm. Showed strength thru contact with 85 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.66 runner down the line. Defensively has a loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. Plays thru the ball with a compact exchange. Threw 81 mph across the infield. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Tall and fall delivery with easy effort. Smooth rhythm working in line with home plate. Fastball was mostly straight showing occasional running action at 77-80 topping out at 81 mph. Curveball has 12-6 shape at 63-64 mph. Changeup has sinking action at 65-68 mph.
Noah Glidden, SS, Nicolet, 2019
6-foot-3, 150-pound right-handed hitting shortstop with a lanky, projectable frame. At the plate hits from a tall, open stance with a short leg kick stride and fair balance. Kyle Humphres, LHP/1B, Tremper, 2018
6-foot-2, 160-pound left-handed hitting LHP/1B. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, stiff arm action. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Short stride with regular effort. Fastball flashed sinking action at 71-73 mph. Curveball has 1-7 shape at 61-65 mph. Changeup sat 62-65 mph. Spencer Lehmann, LHP/1B, Kenosha Bradford, 2019
5-foot-10, 170-pound two-way player. On the mound delivery works with regular effort, lands square. Arm action separates deep, working through short window from an over the top slot. Fastball is mostly straight, occasional cut, 67-70 mph, touched 71 mph. Curveball has 1/7 shape, showed better feel of it from the stretch, 56-59 mph. Changeup sinks, 60-63 mph. Left-handed hitter, tall setup with short stride. Short path in and out of the zone, lifting contact favoring pull side. 76 mph exit velocity from the tee.
