It was a beautiful early spring day for baseball around the state last night. The following is a look at scores and highlights from all the action.

Dylan Ecken went 2-for-4 with a double and Cole Gaddie doubled and drove in 3 runs in the win. Ethan Revell allowed just 1 hit and 1 run in 5 innings to record the victory. Brady Mason homered for Male in the loss.

Woodford County 2, #19 Sayre 1
Jabari Alexander collected 2 of Woodford’s 5 hits to and drove in a run in the win. Phillip Royalty got the start for Woodford and worked 2.1 innings allowing one run with 3 K’s, and Noah Sallee pitched 2 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts in relief.

Mercer County 2, #13 Henry Clay 0
Cayden Devine pitched a 79 pitch complete game, 3-hit shutout with 8 strikeouts and also collected 2 of the Titans 5 hits in the win. Chardy Tierney pitched well in the start for Henry Clay, working 3.2 scoreles innings with 8 strikeouts.

Eastern 13, #18 Oldham County 3
Trailing 3-2 in the 5th inning, Eastern got into the Colonels bullpen and exploded for 11 runs to handily win the game. Alex Lindsay went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, and Ethan Elmore went 2-for-4 with a double and scored 3 runs in the Eagles win. Henry Craig also added 2 RBI.

#22 Tates Creek 7, Boone County 1
Braxton Brinegar went 2-for-2 with a triple and 4 RBI and Carson Van Haaren and David Castleberry combined for 4 hitless innings with 9 strikeouts in the season-opening win for Tates Creek.

Evan Hampton went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and HR with 3 RBI, Eli Hampton went 2-for-2 with a double, Blake Kimbrell went 3-for-3 with a RBI, and Connor Hallmark went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI in the win as Owensboro overcame a 6-1 defecit for a come from behind win.

Apollo 4, Breckinridge County 1
Apollo scored 3 runs in the 8th to take the extra-inning win. Sam Holder homered in the win, and Noah Cook allowed just 3 hits and 1 unearned run with 9 strikeouts over 7 innings of work. Cohl Proctor, one of the top uncommitted arms in the 2022 class, racked up 14 K’s in his 7 innings of 1-run baseball.

Nicholas County 6, Morgan County 1
Dalton Davenport went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, and Branson Sosby allowed 1 run with 6 K’s over 4.1 innings for the win.

Estill County 4, Bourbon County 0
Thomas Forehand fired 6 shutout innings with 8 strikeouts to pick up the early season win.

Spencer County 3, Nelson County 2
Jacob Trowbridge homered and drove in 2 runs, and Bradley Coulter and Jacob Delph combined for 12 strikeouts to shut down the Nelson County offense.

West Carter 2, Menifee County 1
Jake Carter went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, and Xavier Rose fired 6 innings with 12 strikeouts to pick up the win.
