Kentucky Power 25 Team Rankings

As the season really begins to crank up this week across the state, we introduce our first ever Kentucky Power 25 Team Rankings.  The rankings are a culmination of hours of reviewing stats, looking over rosters, analyzing schedules, picking apart pitching staffs, talking to coaches, and analyzing the limited action that has taken place so far this season.  Some teams have played as many as 6 games while many others have yet to take the field for a regular season game.  Of course, the rankings will change as we progress through the season.  Nevertheless, here is the very first PBR Kentucky Power 25 Team Rankings.

Lexington Catholic occupies the top spot.  The Knights have an experienced and talented pitching staff led by seniors Tom Banahan, Evan Fraliex (Tenn Tech), and Corey Wells.  This team can create runs in a variety of ways with speed from top to bottom led by Michigan recruit Trey Miller and Louisville recruit Logan Taylor.

Defending State Champs Woodford County sits in the 2 spot.  The Yellow Jackets return one of the premier pitchers in the country in senior Clinton Hollon.  Also returning is senior RHP Logan Parrett who compiled a 9-1 record last season, throwing a complete game 2-hit shutout to win the state championship.  Parrett and junior Eli Boggess are the top returning offensive performers.

Saint Xavier rounds out the top 3, returning their one-two punch on the mound in Western Kentucky recruit Sam Melchior, and senior lefty Ben Britt.  Senior Jack Cleary provides another very solid arm in the rotation.  The Tigers return a lot of experienced position players as well, led by junior Austin Clemons, senior SS Nate Stemle, and senior outfielder Gunnar Wagoner.
