On Tuesday, November 15th, PBR Maryland released our initial MD/DE Class of 2026 Rankings. Below, PBR Maryland Scouting Director Jamie Naill dives deeper into the rankings and highlights the players ranked 10-14.

*The class will expand more and more as we get a chance to see more players in the class, whether it be at events, tournaments, or high school games.*

Rounding out the Top 10 is a smooth swinging, left-handed hitting shortstop in Jack Grossi (Kent Island). Yet another 2022 Junior Future Games alum, Grossi showcases advanced actions at the dish, creating consistent extension through contact with line drive tendencies to the gaps and alleys. Utilizing a slightly uphill swing path, the hands get through the zone fairly quick with explosion in the hips and wrists. Defensively, the hands are smooth and fluid with active feet, gaining momentum on throws with accuracy to the bag. Another guy that obviously needs (and will) mature into the body, with a high ceiling on both sides of the ball.

One of my favorites from the US Elite Scout Day in early November, outfielder Dominic Califano (Century) lands at No. 11. An upright stance at the dish with slight bend in the knees, Califano attacks with intent, utilizing some torque in the hips with solid barrel lag through the zone. On plane early and creating occasional loft to the pull side, the approach is sound with line drive tendencies to the middle (86 Max Exit Velocity). Defensively the actions are smooth with present arm strength (80 Max OF Velocity) and quick feet that play into momentum toward the target.

Another standout at the US Elite Scout Day was two-way Collin Kight (North Harford). Possessing a long, lean 6-foot, 165 pound frame, the metrics jump out for the two-way first baseman and right-handed pitcher. At the dish, the approach is consistent, spraying line drives to all fields with authority. Creates lift to both gaps with strength present in the swing (88 Max Exit Velocity). Kight showed extremely well on the bump, working with longer arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Strike thrower that pounds the zone and shows effectiveness with all three pitches. The fastball comes out of the hand well with evident feel for both sides of the plate at 78-80 mph. The breaking ball was thrown with confidence, showcasing tight shape with late downer action.

Coming in at No. 13, Jayden Saraullo (Northeast) is another 2022 PBR Junior Future Games alum who shows impressive actions on both sides of the ball. A two-way southpaw, Saraullo opened a ton of eyes during his BP rounds at the JFG's, showcasing a strong middle of the field approach with plenty of loft created to the pull side. The hands work quick with some whip in the barrel, spraying line drives to all fields consistently; high power ceiling as the frame continues to fill out. On the bump, Saraullo features a strong three-pitch mix with nice cut action on the fastball. Pounds the zone and works well off the fastball, mixing in a bigger 1/7 breaking ball for strikes. Once the frame fills out for Saraullo, look for this to be one of the better two-ways in the 2026 class.

At No. 14, Evan Bodensiek (Mount St. Joseph) is another standout from the 2022 PBR Junior Future Games, showcasing clean actions with some twitch at the dish. The hands work loose and quick, showcasing strength to the pull side gap with some whip in the barrel (84.4 Max Exit Velocity). Utilizing more of a line drive approach, Bodensiek occasionally creates lift through and shows projection for some power as the frame fills out. A high contact guy that impacted the games in multiple facets at this year's Junior Future Games.
