Quite a bit of action was able to take place last evening.  Here is a look at scores and highlights from around the state.

Lexington Christian Academy 5  Henry Clay 2
Senior Ben Cooper recorded the win for Lexington Christian Academy. He pitched 4 1/3 shutout innings, allowing no hits with 5 K’s.  Lexington Christian Academy closer Dima Ballard put away the final three outs to record the save.  Junior Cody Kalinowski went 2-4 with a double and RBI to lead the LCA offense. 

Lexington Catholic 6  Franklin County 3
Senior Evan Fraliex held Franklin County hitless over three innings, allowing no earned runs, walked two and struck out six.  Louisville commit Logan Taylor went 2-4 with a triple, and sophomore Connor O’Neil had a double and 2 RBI to lead the offense. Senior David Current homered in the loss for Franklin County. 

Corbin 15  Knox Central 8
Kevin Goins survived a 4-run first inning to pick up the victory.  Goins tossed 6 innings, allowing 3 hits and 4 runs with 8 K’s.  Derek Terry collected 4 hits for Corbin and Taylor Combs, Nick Vorbeck, and Jacob Metzger all had multi-hit games in the victory for the Redhounds. 

Clay County 9  Somerset 6
Tanner Hoskins picked up the win for Clay County. Hoskins pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out five. Tyler Allen had a hot bat for Clay County, collecting 4 hits on the day.  Trevor Sams had a 2-3 day at the plate for the Tigers as well. 

Larue County 12  Bardstown 11
Larue County outlasted Bardstown in 10 innings.  Austin McDowell and Cole Hughes each had 2 hits to pace the Larue County offense.  Shunta Muto and Santrell Farmer each collected 3 hits in the loss for Bardstown. 

Greenwood 5  Logan County 1
Kent Smith had two extra base hits, helping Greenwood to a 5-1 victory over Logan Co. on Tuesday. He doubled in the second and sixth innings. Trevor Brewer baffled Logan Co., striking out six batters. Brewer allowed no earned runs on three hits and two walks over five innings. 

Greenup County 3  Russell 2
Seth Boyle was strong at the plate and on the mound in carrying the Greenup County Musketeers Varsity to a 3-2 victory over Russell on Tuesday at Greenup, KY.  Boyle allowed two earned runs, four hits and no walks while striking out four over 5 1/3 innings of work, while also collecting 2 doubles at the plate.  Casey Stiltner, Korey Morris, and JB Brown each stroked 2 hits as well for Greenup County. 

Boyd County 14  Rowan County 4
Boyd County scored early and often in the 5 inning rout.  Jake Cook had a huge day at the plate going 5-5 with 2 doubles, a HR, and 5 RBI.  Robbie Shivel got the win for Boyd County, allowing three runs over three innings. Shivel struck out one, walked none and gave up four hits.  Dylan Grimm picked up 3 hits to contribute to the 14 run outburst by the Lions offense.

Collins 6  Trinity (Louisville) 4
Kentucky recruit Austin Perry went the distance for Collins, allowing four runs over seven innings. He struck out seven, walked five and surrendered four hits. Zac Wiley went 2-2 with a triple, and Nate Clifton and Logan Bailey each collected 2 hits to pace the Titans offense. 

Cumberland County 1  Edmonson County 0 (8 innings)
Larry Johnson fired a no-hitter in going the distance for the Panthers, racking up 9 K’s along the way. 

Caldwell County 7  Webster County 2
Jordan Young allowed one earned run, nine hits and no walks over 6 2/3 innings, with 6 K’s to pick up the victory.  Landon Burns stroked 2 doubles, and Bryar East collected 3 hits to lead the offensive attack.  Brennen Pritchett collected 4 hits for Webster County.

Bowling Green 6  Allen County 3
Bowling Green scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning and never trailed in the 6-3 victory.  Senior Ben Morrison paced the offense with a HR and 2 RBI, while Seaton Sheldon collected a double and 2 RBI as well. 

Ballard 13  Atherton 5
Senior Adam Boone had a monster day at the plate going 3-3 with a double and 6 RBI to lead the Bruins.  Senior Tyler Owen also contributed 2 doubles in the offensive attack.  Sophomore Andrew DeLeon picked up the win, throwing 5 2/3 innings in relief, allowing 3 hits and 1 run while striking out 6. 

East Jessamine 11  Grant County 2
Michael Jones and Jarryd Settles each collected 2 hits and 2 RBI to lead East Jessamine to the victory.  Conner Lindsay picked up the win allowing 1 earned run over 4 innings of work.

Daviess County 7  McLean County 2
JJ Poole homered and Kyle Schneider went 3-4 to lead Daviess County to victory.  Sean Pedley and Jacob Nanney also collected 2 hits each.  Jake Carter stroked two doubles in the loss for McLean County.
