With the delay of baseball due to the cornoavirus pandemic sweeping our nation, PBR Maryland hoped to provide those that wish to get their baseball fix with an interactive Twitter March Madness style Tournament. 

The first and second rounds were decided March 21st and March 22nd bringing us today to the Sweet 16. The rules of the event are simple. Two teams square off competing for the most votes to decide who moves on to the next round. At the end of the event, only one team will be left standing living in social media infamy across the Old Line State. 

Below are the Sweet 16 match-ups set to begin later today. The Sweet 16 round will take place March 26th - March 27th. Winners of each match-up will then advance to the Elite Eight which is set to take place Saturday and Sunday this weekend, March 28th - March 29th.

Teams for the tournament were selected via our Maryland Power 25. After that, programs received at large bids based on strength of team twitter profiles.

East Region

#11 Chesapeake vs. #7 Howard

#7 Howard defeated #10 South River and #2 James M. Bennett

West Region

 

#1 Georgetown Prep vs. #5 Linganore

#3 Thomas Johnson vs. #2 Sherwood
