CHICAGO HEIGHTS - Marian Catholic hosted St. Patrick on Friday afternoon in a East Suburban Catholic Conference game. The Spartans of Marian Catholic rode the right-arm of freshman Tyler Fullman en-route to an 8-2 win.

Fullman, one of the top freshman prospects in the state proved he belonged at the varsity level on Friday afternoon. The strong-bodied right-hander got the start and went four innings without giving up a hit, struck out six and walked one. Fullman attacked hitters almost exclusively with a fastball that sat in the mid-80’s and got plenty of swings and misses.

Marian Catholic (4-6) scored two runs in the second inning, one in the third and five in the fourth to jump out to an 8-0 lead. Sophomore Aidan Stewart delivered a big blow in the second inning, a double that short-hopped the left-center field fence and scored a run. In the five-run fourth inning the Spartans got three runs on a two-out bases loaded bunt by MJ Munoz that ended up getting thrown down the right-field line, clearing the bases. Junior catcher Angelo Cantelo had a big day at the plate going 3-for-3 with two RBI’s and a double. Chandler Kerr went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored out of the three-hole for Marian Catholic.

St. Patrick got their two runs in the fifth inning. Michael Crawford and Luca Paolucci singled to start the frame and junior Sammy Correa added an RBI single later on in the inning.

Richie Schenck worked two innings out of the bullpen for Marian Catholic and allowed one hit while striking out two.
