WEEK 1 MARYLAND JUCO CONFERENCE RUNDOWN
Week 1 Rundown: Four teams from the Maryland JUCO Conference began their season's this past week. Harford CC traveled to South Carolina for a four game series with USC Sumter where they opened with two wins on Saturday before dropping a pair to the Fire Ants on Sunday. Allegany College of Maryland and Cecil CC both managed one win in their four games series' on the road against Lenoir CC (NC) and Delaware Tech CC respectively. And, CCBC Catonsville began their Florida spring trip at Seminole State College in Sanford where they were swept in an opening double-header.
A look ahead to Week 2: Seven more teams are slated to open their 2020 campaigns this week with Anne Arundel CC, CCBC Dundalk, Chesapeake College, College of Southern Maryland, Frederick CC, Montgomery College, Prince George's CC all set for action. CCBC Catonsville will continue their Florida trip with five games scheduled against Lake-Sumter State College (FL), College of Central Florida, and Daytona State College (FL).
Local Action in Week 2: Chesapeake College will host Region XIX and DII Northeast District Champion Lackawanna College (PA) for a double-header starting at 11:00 AM on Saturday, while Prince George's CC plays host to Eastern Gateway CC (OH) in a three game series featuring a double-header on Saturday also starting at 11:00 AM. The College of Southern Maryland will square off against Finger Lakes CC (NY) on Saturday with game one of the double-header scheduled for 12:00 PM and Anne Arundel CC is set to open the the season at home with a double-header against Salisbury University Club.
